Guest nijjy
Hi to all wondered if you could help! My '94 auto TT has blown a hole in its radiator so Ive removed said item so as to match for a new one, undecided at the moment whether to go oem or uprated. Anyway when I removed rad I noticed that the part directly in front on this, which I beleive to be the oil cooler is deteriorating at the bottom i.e. fins have begun to fall off it. What I need to know is is this the oil cooler firstly and if so since I will need to replace it has anyone got any recommenations on what to fit, ive sourced a fluidyne + cooler is this any good. Hope someone can help. P.S. I will post Piccys and spec soon....Thanks Nijjy.
RobSheffield
Pics will help a lot. Could be PAS cooler or auto transmission cooler (admittedly iv never seen one of those though!)
Guest nijjy
It sits directiy in front of radiator and is about same size as rad but thinner, getting pics now...
gaz1
probs your tranny cooler, the fluidyne is a nice bit of kit, you need to make sure it a tranny cooling fan you get with it, ;)If you are a TT or N/A with automatic transmission: Your stock radiator has an allowance built into it for cooling your transmission. If you replace your radiator with an aftermarket one such as this Fluidyne, this allowance will be removed with the stock radiator. You must purchase a transmission cooler and we highly recommend you also purchase the Spal 7.5 fan to push extra air through your new tranmission cooler. The transmission cooler and Spal fan will keep your automatic running cooler and better than it ever has!
RobSheffield
Ahh from the updated description it sounds like it could be aircon rad?

supra matt
http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=131058 Here you go mate and fan will be about £
carl0s
Yep it's the air con Condenser. If it leaks your a/c will stop working and the compressor won't engage as the gas/pressure gets low. If the a/c is fine and doesn't need re-gassing every couple of months just leave it for now. Since your car is an auto, fitting of an aftermarket radiator will require you to get a separate auto-gearbox cooler, as the Toyota radiator has on built into the main radiator. edit: sorry, Gaz already said that
