Apexi PFC, D-jethro or not?

I'm a little confused about the PFC's used on Supras. I used the PFC on my skyline - ordinary version with AFM's, but I recently realized that most (if not all?) Supras running the PFC uses MAP sensor, but usually not the D-Jethro version.. As far as I know both the original and pro version is AFM based, and the only way to run a PFC by MAP sensor is by using the D-Jethro version.

My own Supra is running MAP also, but it doesn't seem to be the D-Jethro, so what the hell is going on  ???

I know all PFC's on Supras are A.P Engineering versions, so did AP convert them to MAP somehow or what?

I've never heard of "D-Jethro", but as I understand it the Supra requires a specific PowerFC ECU. All the ones I know members have on here (including mine) were plug and play so must have been pre configured to use the MAP sensor.

Paul Whiffin and Ryan.G are members here who know a great deal about the PFC ecu so I expect can provide a fuller answer.

I got your PM KDW on friday but i am away mapping at the moment so only able to get on here briefly.

Powerfc's are design to be plug and play units for the car they are designed to run. So where you used to have a Skyline it ran the 2 x AFM's but a d-detro version was offered for skyline owners to junk the AFM's if wanted.

The Powerfc you have on your car is a JZA80 model which Ap-engineering designed to run the Jspec 6sp cars. These cars run a map sensor based load system so the ecu is designed to cope with that to make it Plug and Play.

In answer to your other pm questions.

The Map sensor you have on your particular car is a 3bar map sensor. So it will read to 2bar of boost. You can get larger sensors but im not sure how far you are wanting to take your car espically if you mentioned you want to run more than 2bar of boost.

2bar of boost on a T51 will be enough :D

I'm just saying I want to have the ability to push above 2bar, I know I want to sooner or later. (probably sooner rather than later:d)

Is there a good quality item that will see 2.5bar without maxing out?
