EVO 6 Tommy Makinen

Never thought I'd say it but I've seen a really nice and local evo 6 for sale.

I'm going to look for a decent forum to see what they are like reliability wise but thought I'd check on here as I'm sure a few members have owned them.

Any feedback from peopel with experience of them as to suitability for daily driver, reliability and problems to look for, or links to a decent forum would be great.

She's a 2000 with 58k, new clutch, silver and verrrrry fast (400bhp).

First insurance quote £738 so not too bad really.

Hard to believe it's making 400bhp,my mates evo7 (Dark Evo) fully loaded made 486bhp.Wicked cars though i had a evo 6,fun fun fun.

I'd be very surprised, probably closer to 300bhp. I think even at that it hits 0-60 in 4.8, mix that with the evo handling I bet its fun.

There is a dealer nearby with a few, might go test drive some.

350-370bhp is very simple stage one mods so id say its nearer that, my old evo 7 made 320bhp stock with just an exhaust, fuel pump and ecutek remap made 371 on wrc's dyno.

my evo 9GT is dave gamons old demo car and has 420bhp with not many mods but the 9's have the added benefit of mivec.:)

They are prob bidding on it right now thinking result!!!!

hmm, there is that. I'm not hugely bothered, I still really want an NA Supra again but this caught my eye and might be a laf for a while. Got the cash so might take a wander down tomorrow and offer 7.5k.

How roomy are these? I'm 6'4 and the supra feels really roomy which is nice.

I'm getting more responses off this site than the mlr forum!

loads and loads of room.... more so in an EVO than in a Supra.

Nothing to worry about on that score.

The RS diff versions are the ones to go for if you are a real driving god. A 300bhp EVO6 RS version can hit 60 in a smidging over 4 seconds. The GSRs come with a bit more weight due to aircon etc. and the AYC diff doesn't 'bite' as hard.

yeah I think that low price is just to get lots of bidders.

TME EVO6's keep their price because they are such a high spec limited edition car from the factory. As Supra Dori says £11 is a typical lower end price range for them. For that you'd be looking at one with a few miles on the clock or some small maintenence required.

Only a year ago I saw one that sold for £16k ! (it had done about 40K miles aswell)
