decat on an n/a

hi my car is in having new crankshaft and cam seals fitted and while i was in there the mechanic said i should get rid of both cats, he reckons i could gain upto 40bhp. i think he's dreaming abit but is it worth doing. will it make the car alot noiser (istart work at 6am) cheers j

Yes it makes it very loud! And 40hp! in his dreams, probably 15 at the very most

Just do the 1 cat as it will be way to loud. it would be like holding a red rage to the police. Talking from experience

go decat, will get a little more performance but no way 40bhp!, but if you go double decat it will be very loud

You're not going to find much performance from going double or even single de-cat in an N/A. I've removed both of mine already & if I'm honest I wish i never as it's way to loud for what I get from it! At the time when i had the 2nd cat in it was load anough! So It's up to you what you do but just beware it will be LOUD

I had an RSR and a 2nd de-cat, you won't find much of an increase in BHP but I did find the engine picked up lower down the rev range. Oh and yes it will be loud

both of mine are off my back box was quite anyway so its not that loud .no way will you get 40 bhp 10-15 maybe if you want more bhp get one of nics manfolds [my next mod]
