jamesmark
Don't people get bored of saying how crap the site is now...? Obviously not, if it goes according to true fashion there will be another thread started saying how great this site is (excl this site rocks one). Blackie
sorry but it has to be said this forum is one of the worst places for newbies to be, i know a few people who will never ask advice on here because they will get the piss took out of them i personally have no problem posting up the most silly questions, even when i was more of a newbie than now. if people take the piss i take it back, havard used to give me shit but now i think he's a top bloke, bit of a fat twat, but a top bloke but to be fair i didnt really understand his humour and thought he was just being shitty

RedM
To put this thread into a festive mood I give you this old chestnut (possibly roasted on an open fire). Anyway, this forum's going downhill.

Animal
I think this has been said a few times, but you have to treat this place like a pub full of regulars. It's exactly like my bike club, when you're out with them, you expect to get the piss taken mercilessly for almost anything. Lot's of in-jokes and fads pass though making anyone new not know how to take us. A lot of us on here have met up at meets and such, or have just worked out what people's on-line personas are like so we know which people to push in what way. Again, a lot of fads and in-jokes abound, which are amusing to those who get em, but could be awful for those who don't. That's not to say there aren't any nasty comments, there are, I think Matt's comment on the speedo thread came across as a bit harsh, but the thread was hard work. So quit yer whining and laugh at us or with us, or bugger off to a knitting forum where it's all nice and fluffy and full of love. Peace Animal
marbleapple
No, no, that appears to be two whiny threads you started that go on exactly like this one. What Daman wanted was specific posts to back up your claims but YET AGAIN There aren't any. -Ian Ian, In every thread that is similar to this one, I see the same post from yourself. I am amazed you had to read 22 pages of threads to find negative comments. There are comments IMO which are rude. For example: Dont bother, save your money so you can go back to school What I find ironic is that many people who post criticism of others often make errors themselves. For example: Thats cos you have breasts, if it wasnt for that, you would be getting flamed like the rest of em! It would be nice if people did lay off spelling a bit (although it would be nice if you spoke in semi-decent English). What I would say however, is that the comments about this place not being welcoming is unfounded. I have not been a member on here for long but have met some superb people, many of whom have given me great advice and been very patient. I mean, even though Matt made the comment above, he still went on and tried to help the poor bloke. If you are daft enough to paint your car gold and red, stick half of Halfords on it and then ask people what they think, then they deserve to be criticised. P.s. Matt H - sorry this isn't an attack at you, just saw above as an obvious example.

marbleapple
Anyway, this forum's going downhill. Ironically many of your grumpy, negative comments make me laugh. Very dry sense of humour. (I just hope you don't mean many of the comments you make )

Carl_S
I don't really post alot, mainly read, digest and laugh at the odd post here and there, but I really can't believe whats happening on this forum. Some people appear to have made it their hobby to put people down on this forum either for spelling mistakes, car looks, lack of technical knowledge, driving ability or just about anything that they can find fault with. I wouldn't normally post and make comment but the actions of a few are giving new members and general viewers with a bad impression of the forum. Yes, some people have a better technical prowess than others but that doesn't mean that they have a right to belittle people and call them chavs. Yes, someone's car may not be to your taste but that doesn't give you the right to slag them off on the forum. Yes, I agree with other peoples comments that text speak has no place on the forum but we are all capable of making spelling mistakes and not spotting them before we click post. Also we are still in a society where, believe it or not, there is remains a high population of people who have reading or writing difficulties, and of course there are those who have dyslexia. So what gives anyone the right to be so judgmental of others. We have met quite a excellent few people on here and have found them to be friendly and supportive, so I don't understand why have things gone like this? The world isn't fair. fact. Luckily there are sweet people like you who we can run to and feel loved. Carl

Carl_S
People like dragonlady remind me what we should all aspire to being, treating others respectfully and not belittling etc etc. Usually people only give as good as they got, dragonlady you must have had lovely loving parents, I envy you. World takes all sorts though, the variety is intersting.
Dragonlady
I take on board everyones comments and my intension was not to be negative. I personally think the forum is great and so are the people that we have met, but then I have been on the forum a while and are able to understand peoples personas. However as a newbie you do not have the benefit of knowing the people that are posting, and therefore some of the comments that are made maybe seen to be harsh and unnecessary. For that reason they maybe reluctant to stay with the forum and take offence. As with anything there is a right way and a wrong way to say things. Also in my personal opinion this spelling crap seems to have gone on for far too long. Why can't people let a simple spelling mistake lie. Lets not have Lets have instead
