gtylerroberts
I have had a vision about installing a supercharger on a supra. I have spoken to a number of people who are a bit confued about how the two boosting mechanisms could work together. Does anyone have any knowledge that would help or can you tell me if it has been done before? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks G

Ben-san
From what I can tell, you're talking about compound boost, ie. supercharging a turbocharged car. This has been done before with a TT engine, but in an MA70 shell. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the results: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=19015&highlight=compound+boost
TurboBrett
speaking in terms of positive displacement supercharges its best to have the turbo's feeding the super charger , dont have any experiance with the belt driven turbo type, lol dont even know there proper name:d i have subscribed to this thread btw would like to follow your progress:eyebrows: just like to point out this isnt down to my own testing, about 12 members of my mini club have superchared a turbomini and i think 9 have tryed both ways back to back on the rollers, with maybe 100+ years of experience combined i will just agree:) also look at cars such as the Lancia Delta first that springs to mind (as i see 2 kicking aroud regularly )
Chris Wilson
I have seen it done by amateurs on a Volvo engine, and it worked well. the development cost was enough to buy a couple of decent late manual Supras at retail though, plus parts. So I am sure it's possible, but would you want a 35K + car sat outside you'd be lucky to get 15K for? `Cos that's what your vision would lead to, if you were lucky, would be even worse if you paid professionals to do it for you. Dyno test of this engine at http://www.gatesgarth.com/volvo_dyno/dyno_pull.mpg The rest of the car matches the engine work...stunning.
