Guigsy
Thansk Ollie for the reply. Looks like the bugger I hit in the car park is claiming injury which is why the case is still open... winds me up this sort of thing, I hit him at 2mph, didn't even feel it and he is now trying to claim thousands for injury. I've renewed with you again on both cars. Seems they are cracking down on this. My accident seems to have tried to do the same thing. The chap from markerstuddy who phoned me shortly after the accident said they fight every claim like this realy hard now. Seems as though if both parties claim it gets a payout but if the other doesn't it isn't successfull.
Radio
Shop around till you get the right deal. I tried Sky.......way to dear. Tried LV who insured me (£545) on a previous TT UK 8 years earlier but hadn't had a car after selling the Sup. THEY wouldn't insure me. Never had a claim or accident when I was with them (8 years). Tried Nfu mutual (farm, tractors etc with them) £1000. Did the deal with Red Star Equity..... fully comp, me and wife to drive. £278............. Guigsy
You insured a tt as a young driver after getting big quotes of 1000+ for 280 quid? And you live in Manchester? Which is a hard place to insure any performance car reasonably. If so I'd double and triple check the policy. It's probably not worth the paper its printed on. Wrong car - usualy a MK 3 by mistake. something like that. Or you have not been entirely honest about mods or who the main driver of the car is... Safely Insured
Hi, I have just tried for a quote in a 1995 TT auto but does not show the auto option when I type my number plate, also if I don't type my plate, it still does not show or allow me to change it from manual... Plus; do you insure young drivers (20 years old) fully comp? if so, are you competitive? thanks Hi, apologies but we would not be able to help with this due to your age. Not the cheapest deal out there but cheaper than last year, and thats what counts

r2ck_p
For the second year running Sky Insurance will not insure anyone in Manchester. Great !!! If your based in the Manchester region and have an M postcode regardless of where abouts in Manchester, they will not insure you apparently due to the high claim rate. Paul
I given up asking Sky for a quote, tried loads of times, no points/decent area (SE) and 47yrs old with no claims, Bell Direct have insured me for 12 yrs and made good money as I've never claimed and hardly drive the bl**dy thing (it's secure in my garage) but Sky don't seem to want easy money Never mind, their loss...... I'm having similar problems with them. Rang them on Friday, was told that no one from sales was available, they'll ring me back. Waited hours. They never did. Spoke to Alex on Saturday morning (when I rang them) and was told that they don't insure my post code usually but would speak to underwriters and ring me back 1st thing Monday morning. Still waiting. Meanwhile I've spoken to other brokers who quoted immediatley (despite it being a weekend) and at very reasonable prices. At the rate Sky are going they won't be getting the business for the new car (because they can't find time to quote) or my other car insured via them which I'll move at renewal next month because of the poor service to date. Guigsy
I've never realy had problem with them. Always give me a better quote after a bit of shopping arround. If they can't match exactly they get close enough. Usualy within 50 quid. I have all 3 cars with them ATM. Don't have problems with speaking to anyone either. Radio
Tried sky 12months ago. was too expensive. 2nd year now with Equity Red Star......a brilliant £287 fully comp. Insurance companies are really a joke, they change their policies like the wind. Just try them all and picks what suits you.

marbleapple
Hi, my colleague called twice yesterday and has called you again today. Thanks Just to follow up on this: An 01707 642552 did ring me twice on the Monday and didn't leave a message. Bearing in mind the number bears no resemblance to Sky's 0330 number how am I meant to know Sky called? When I pressed redial though it seems that the number goes through to an answer phone of a Hamish Mc something!?? (Give it a ring to confirm) not Sky. The only reason I now know Sky called is because Alex has since rung (Tuesday post my forum message) using the 01707 number and this time left me a message. In his message he did ask me to ring the 0330 number, so ignoring the weird involvement of Hamish, I then rang the 0330 at around 1.15pm on the sales line to speak to Alex. The person who finally picked up the phone (after a long hold) told me that Alex was at lunch and he (the person who picked up the phone) couldn't help because he was simply assisting with overflow. I was however promised a call back before 2pm (Tuesday). It's now 0.05 on Thursday and I'm still waiting. I'll give it a go again at between 1-2 today.
