straightsix
Insurance is always more expensive paying monthly. Always is always has been. Same for everything you pay monthly on. Insurance renewals are always higher. A way of squeezing money out of you if you can't be arsed I know that - but thirty odd percent APR? Would have been nice to know that one was coming! Guest Budz86
I paid mine over 3 months and it was a £10 admin fee each time which still spreads the cost but keeps the interest down

neil tt
Just had a great quote from Sky, very happy with the price and the service. It was cheaper than the other quotes I have had, thank you
SupraStar 3000
Had a fantastic quote from Sky. All the staff where very helpful,... especially Luke. Much cheaper than last year. GZ Aero tt £572 (limited millage) Looks like another year with Sky and I'll be able to insure the Supra sooner than expected.
SupraDan24
I was disappointed with my quote this year, over a hundred pounds more than i paid with Sky last year, no convictions or anything. When i called Sky, i was told that was the cheapest they could go, so i turned down the quote and said i would look elsewhere. Once i said that, the guy told me that if i got a cheaper quote, i should call them back and they would match it My response was just to give me it cheaper now and i wont have to go through the hassle of calling others up, again i was told it doesn't work like that. Surfice to say, at that point i wouldn't even be interested in a cheaper quote as thats just trying to get the best price from me possible, good business practice, poor customer service. I insured both my car's seperately in the end and saved just over £400 !! £400 Sky !! What got me is you guys wanted a smidge over £400 to insure my 1275cc mini with 4 years no claims, thats rediculous money. I now pay £199. Bossco
Exactly the same story here Dan including my second car. Unfortunately Sky wouldnt insure my 1 ltr micra as fully comp due to its value. As a result I told them to cancel it. Once again they said they would try to match any other quote, turns out they couldnt and wanted just over £700 for the a micra. My BPU supra with all mods declared was £500. I know they can offer a more specialised policy for supra's but they can forget trying to rob me for £700 for a W reg micra. Thats £500 more than what I could find using the likes of confused.com and compare the market. I wont be renewing my supra policy come August....but I am looking forward to getting the renewal price in the post. It should make for a good start to the day
shh
phoned sky today for a quote for an NA SUPRA, for an old 50+ git, full no claims, clean license, been with sky 3 years. £485 already got a stagea 25t rs-v (2wd) (skyline estate) insured with them. how can an NA SUPRA cost more than my stagea?? had an NA SUPRA insured with them 2yars ago, was £350 f.c. told me that was the minimum policy price they do. guess the big price hikes are so they can afford to sponsor the drift cars???? stagea insurance is due in april.....guess i'll be going else where. TheBlades
Hello all, Sorry Ive just got to have a whinge!! Story 1. Paid Sky Ins 590 pounds up front for my Supra (targa). Sold it 2 weeks later and 8 weeks later got 370 back from Sky. Thats 220 for 2 weeks Ins. Story 2. The Mrs paid 368 up front for her Hyundai Coupe. Sold it 4 weeks later, Sky said they would refund 298 and would send a no claims cert within a week. 4 weeks later Sky claimed that they didnt receive the ins docs back, even though we had sent them by post and fax. This resulted in a reduced refund of 235 and 7 weeks since the sale, we are still waiting for a refund and a no claims cert. Sky said today, that they were sorry for the delay and that it could take another 4 weeks to get the money back. Any chance I can charge Sky the APR they charge customers for paying monthly. Story 3. Got a 590 quote for my 02 Vectra GSI. Initially told that was the best they could do. After 20 mins I rang them back and got another quote for 490, which they then reduced to 390 to match a quote I had been given on line, a massive 200 pounds saving for 20 mins!! Come on Sky, do some work for us instead of taking our hard earned coin in over inflated quotes and charges. Give me a reason for staying with you. Vicky
Well I just rang sky for a renewal price on my impreza which came out at £567, had a cheaper quote elsewhere of £373 so quite a big difference. All companies are different so I'm not bothered by that, what has annoyed me is the rude woman I spoke to who refused to send me a copy of my no claims that I am currently earning as evidence to another insurance company for my Capri! She said I will have to wait until my renewal at the end of this month, so very unhelpful!

Vicky, with respect, I sit next to the lady you spoke to, she was not at all rude and she is unable to send the paperwork because the policy is still active. My colleague did her very best to help you and gave you some other options. I appreciate insurance can be frustrating but my colleague did her very best to help you and her hands were tied on what you were asking for. TheBlades
Dear Sky, Thanks for the speedy reply. I'll PM you with mine and my Mrs's details. As for story 3, I guess all you can do is admit that you would've glady taken an extra 200 for the same policy. Neil

I dont understand what people want from a club insurer. They cannot give you the best price possible when they dont know what that might be. Sky quote what their insurers tell them to along with some profit. When you ask them to price match they will ask you which insurer it is with for a good reason, they go to their insurer and get THEM to price match the quote. THey have no control over what prices come back, they are a broker. I will continue to play the insurance game and save over £150 each year. I know the renewal will be higher than what I paid, but I doubt it is any higher than the renewal quote I had the year before, and the year before. They quote what they are told to quote, they price match what you find to be the best you can find.
