Safely Insured
What is the order of factors here? i.e. is it location primarily? ( I might consider moving out of the centre) age? lack of NCB? I am a Dr. - a scientific researcher at the University of Manchester. Does that count for anything? (I think it does with Admiral). lack of bonus and area are going to be your biggest problems
Safely Insured
steer clear like the plaig they stiched me outta 700 pounds when i changed car they said they would not insure it and i had to pay the rest of the policy off and my brothers the same on renewal its all auto matic and they take a loan for the full preium out in ur name and refund like a 3rd. Pay the little Extra and go with elephant adrain flux is as bad. ofc thats just my opion It's fair to point out that we don't take out a loan, you do. It is always better to pay in one go if you can to avoid interest charges. Other than that we offer our own internal instalments over four months. Failing that use an interest free credit card. martini
lack of bonus and area are going to be your biggest problems Decided I will be getting an NA and will keep it at my parents house in Norfolk. Mileage will be low at about 1000 miles per year. I'll shop about, Autotrader just offered £1050 fully comprehensive on that so I think I will go for it. Cheers. lockys96
id like to say a very big thankyou to Luke at sky insurance, he pulled out all the tricks for me to get what is a very good price considering my age and fact many companies wont quote on rollcages. the first time i swapped out from lancaster to sky insurance on the supra 3 years ago i was lucky enough to have luke handle my quote then. freindly, down to earth, good mannered person - and does what he says he will do now looking to put my mr2 back on the road simon
Andy Blyth
Another thanks to Luke today as well! Nice to see a competitive quote and friendly manner. Cheers!
SupraAyf
SKY already has my 4x4 insured under its banner but they couldn't come close on the quote for wife's new Octavia VRS. SKY quoted 360 squids and she finally accepted a quote of 252 from an alternative provider. You can't win them all:(
Safely Insured
Andy and Simon, thanks for the feedback, I have passed this on to Luke and his line manager. SupraAyf - thanks for trying us, you are right we cannot win them all. There is a lot of competition for standard UK vehicles but we do our best! michael
Thanks go to Ollie, Jae and Cassie for their help with my renewal this year, an excellent saving over last year and good honest efficient service as usual. Nice to have a fully comp premium that's in the £200 range for the first time ever. Cheers.

China Man
Got my renew letter today and I am not a happy bunny. More expensive then last year despite a better post code and now have a locked garage and 4 NCB. Sky was cheaper than others in my last two years tho. michael
Got my renew letter today and I am not a happy bunny. More expensive then last year despite a better post code and now have a locked garage and 4 NCB. Sky was cheaper than others in my last two years tho. Perhaps other factors were an influence on the increase, number of Supra claims, better postcode could still be higher risk (more trees and nice people can mean claims for larger amounts even if there are less of them) and so on... Time to get some other quotes and see what they come in at, then call Sky for a chat. No need to be an upset rabbit based on the first renewal letter IMO. China Man
elephant quote fully comp cheaper than TFT from sky renew, got a call from them and they match the quote from elephant. Good that they matched it but it was no where near cheap like before
martin1982
Having a bit of an issue with my renewal price too. Get the letter quoting me an extra £400 than I paid last year, and am told that I have lost my NCB!?! Turns out that when someone crashed into my car back in January, as far as the insuruers are concerned the claim has not been settled. The third party admitted guilt, I have been refunded my excess by the third parties insurance and reassured by both them and Sky that this will not affect my NCB. Now renewal time is here and it seems neither company has bothered to resolve this and I'm only being offered 1 years NCB instead of the 4 I am entitled too! Not happy at all! Thorin
What have Sky said about this? I think we have to wait until someone from Sky discovers his post first.
michael
I think we have to wait until someone from Sky discovers his post first. Of course, I forgot that you have to come on here and rant about things instead of trying to contact them first. Silly me
martin1982
I've had a word and they are looking into it. Got plans to spend my lunch hour ringing round both insurance companies to find out what exactly is going on. They offered me a reduced premium, but still with only 1 years NCB! DannyW
Well thanks to sky i am now a supra owner once more. I got quotes from a fair few other companies and sky gave the best quote by quite a long way. Thanks guys.
China Man
I guess reading from the posts in this thread Sky is just like another insurance company, bin the renew letter and ring around for better quote and ask them to beat it. A lot of us get upset and rant here because we expected official insurance of the forum would have the best price which it does but only AFTER you find a better deal yourself. They may as well add small prints "Not the cheapest at renew but we will beat any written quote" instead of "best policy best price best services"
