keancy
I just rang my current Insurer to break the news that I had a much better offer from Sky and they are now scrambling to beat it or match it. Awaiting a call back directly lol.

Axle
More then 5 working days since I've send my PM and still no reply. Good service! I've taken my business elsewhere, goodbye Sky! To be fair, im a very fussy person myself and i have had a recent issue regarding my insurance details. Ollie (Sky Insurance) were very helpful and keen in sorting the issue. I had a call back within 10 mins with the problem resolved. It appears they do try and go that extra mile to help and satisfy club members, which is only a good thing these days. It certainly helps when you have good service to gain the trust of your insurer and that imo is the key to retaining customers. Thanks again Ollie. Safely Insured
Well to my Suprise my Current Insurance has almost matched my quote from SKY so I have decided to stay with them this year at least. I'm sure this sounds like sour grapes but as the club insurer I try to insure as many club members as possible. The rates I secured from our underwriters was done so on the understanding we would be taking it direct to club members and not open it up to the general public. So I feel upset when our rate is used as a tool to get a renewal price cheaper. I wonder how much these companies would charge to insure a supra if Sky's rate was withdrawn by the underwriters due to lack of support? michael
So in summary keancy is going to ruin it for all of us and when our insurance goes up we should point our scorn in her direction? Sounds fair to me
Safely Insured
If it gets more club members insuring with me I'll blame keancy for the world wide credit crunch as well. J

DaveK
Insurers are odd. Mine is due fore renewal on 28th, and in fact I took out a policy with Sky today. My current insurers actually told me it was impossible for Sky to be quoting me what they did and made no attempt to match it. I tried a few other places and they were way expensive (£600 to insure an NA Supra when I'm 39 with 8 years NCD - really????).
KaiBosh
Tis true - Sky beat all the others by £120. £730 for modded 93 N/A - I'm 32 with 9 points and only 1yr NCB Confused.com gave me 40 prices, all over a grand, and another 40 companies who wouldn't insure me Cheers Ollie KaiBosh
PhatB
Didn't think it would happen but Sky beat my quote with Elephant £386 for a year fully comp! Got to say thanks to Luke who I dealt with for the quote and for being so pleasant. Makes a change from the usual robotic call centres. Oh... and a membership discount
Supra Ems
I just got a quote from them for £520 for my Supra N/A, £120 cheaper than Elephant so well chuffed!
ozz
Hi Ollie, thought I would give you some feedback on a quote for my JDM 350z. Had a callback from Luke - top bloke. Did beat the quote but not by enought to get me a change (£16 cheaper) from Bell. Bell really do quote low on the zeds and he admitted most prices were well over £600 whereas my quote was £438. Knew his stuff about cars though, gave me a quote and some really good advice on an M3 I might be getting so just saying thanks really! If you are purely driven by the price then accept the Bell quote. Personally, for the sake of £16, I'd be insuring with the club/specialist insurer for a bit of piece of mind. Not having a go here by the way, I'm just struggling to see your logic.

I am still thinking about it, I also feel loyal to Bell as they gave me this price as a renewal price and without me having to negotiate. I didn't mention mkivsupra.net as Luke gave me a discount for signing up with the free 350z.co.uk.

ilicos
Pesonally I think Sky were great with me. They sorted out a small issue ASAP and beat Elephant by £40. Spoke to a couple of gilrs there, Caroline and Katrina I believe, and all was well and good.
Terminator
I have just insured another highly modified car with SKY. It was great to talk to someone who actually knew what I was talking about, as I ran through the parts list. Not only that, someone who was actually enthusiastic about the list of parts and the car they made. No having to explain the difference between a turbo kit and a turbo, or internal and external waste-gates. Great service, great price and they mirrored my max no claims on the second car. Edit This is the first time I have read this thread in any detail and understand when other members feel they might be better off going else where. The problem with comparisons with other individuals is our circumstances are all different; age, location, history, driving experience, etc all contribute to the view underwriters take of us as a risk and the varied amounts we pay. I am not going to talk numbers, as that is between me and Sky, but Sky's quote was considerably less that the previous insurers with the same two drivers and matching my no claims was superb. Keep up the good work Luke. For anyone considering using Sky, don't just rely on a quick PM give Sky a call, you may be pleasantly surprised. KaoriFan
definitely agree, a phone call is the way to go. makes life easier when you talk to people who know what you are on about, rather than clueless. was time for my renewal end of last month, and called them, got excellent deal, very pleased ,even a nice discount as i had the insurance, agreed value, and the breakdown cover too. since i renewed, before my MOT, i then found out my 19inch F1's were done for, so decided to go to 18inch wheels and i did not have to pay any difference for new wheels and tyres. like the holiday insurance cover too, only 90UK i was quoted for excellent package for my vacation abroad. i know Sky are not always cheapest, but i still prefer peace of mind in the long run, with the advantage of agreed value, it saves the worry cheers Ian
