Sky Insurance - best policy, best price, best service

Recommended Posts

People are spoiled in that Sky used to have an employee who posted a lot on this forum. You shouldn't post on here expecting Sky to answer your questions on the forum, I'd say it would be rare for any insurer to do that. Contact them directly.

No single insurer is going to be the best for everyone, and most will not insure cars with NOS installed (yes I've tried). That said, no harm in seeing if other insurers could offer a better discount for members.

Yea agree with that, I have lost faith in them as won't insure my supra just cause it has nos.

I still have every faith in Sky, great company and great discounts, and customer service is amazing.

And I'm not sure many would insure with NOS.

My comment was that we used to have a great presence on this forum.

I don't blame the insurers for it, it's just a shame it's gone quiet.

Yes I tired loads of companies and most weren't happy with the NOS. Thing that annoyed me is sky meant to be club insurance for supra's. And I don't understand how NOS is worst that a 1000bhp monster. Plus is not a cheap kit, it cost 2.5k as its Motorsport spec with 4 safety devices and was professional fitted with certificates to prove.

It's something to do with sitting next to a bottle of gas, I'd imagine. That, plus there's no telling how badly it's fitted. Exploding cars aren't great for an insurance firm's point of view!

Alex supposedly took over being Sky's representative and would be checking in here on a regular basis

to answer questions, his words not mine !!

My policy is up with Sky in a little over 2 weeks and they haven't even sent a renewal notice out. Looks like they just can't be bothered. This together with some terrible customer service experienced last year doesn't really leave me any alternative but to move elsewhere. Very strange way to do business.

Sky did have an employee, Ollie, whose job was to work purely with Car Clubs. Sadly, we don't have a dedicated member of staff to monitor anymore. However, having seen that this Club is indeed still very active, we will be monitoring daily.

If anyone would like to contact us directly, please send an email to - [email protected]

You can contact us on this email for anything - quotes; customer service queries; renewals etc.

Like I said, the forum will be monitored daily, including weekends.

Cheers

Alex

After a recent phone call to them I got the impression they weren't that interested in winning me as a customer, however on a phone call to Adrian Flux they were more then happy to work something out so therefore I went with them.

Surely its worth reducing your commission on a policy then it is to not get any commission at all

Thanks Matt,

Yes I just called Adrian Flux and not only did they beat Sky's renewal by £70 they included legal cover, personal injury cover, key cover and should I want to add agreed value then it will only cost another £15 and unlike some agreed value policies it wouldn't affect my protected NCD.

Whats more the guy on the phone had manners, unlike the last person I spoke with at Sky when i was trying to get a quote for a second vehicle with them. Seems a shame to move from the club's insurer but their attitude annoyed me.

Yes I was far happier with Adrian Flux services, Sky has never worked out for me, they were the cheapest price for me on my own but as soon as I added my girlfriend it almost doubled, and they seemed very much of the opinion that was the price, which considering they are a broker is a poor view to take.

Adrian Flux also rang me back at the time i asked them to and she was pushy to win my business. I also have a couple of classic bikes and I will get them to quote when they come up for renewal, the premium on the classic bikes is normally £80 and not much variation so therefore I ALWAYS go for the better service for the sake of +/- £20.

  • 1 month later...

Just wondering if someone from Sky could contact me reference a new quote.

Got a quote the other week which was actually ok, but I don't think all of my details were correct with regards to modifications and I'd just be a bit happier if I knew it was all down and correct.

Cheers in advance.

Done a quote with you yesterday and you were so far out it was crazy. Got a quote from Green light who offered £490, Adrian flux at £430 and you quoted me £1500. This wasn't even on my supra... It was only my Audi diesel.....

Bear in mind we are a specialist for imports/modified/performance cars. Going by the sound of your post, your Audi is a standard UK car?

Feel free to PM your name and postcode and I'll happily take a look to make sure that's the best we can offer.

Cheers

.

That's like a trader off here saying "We specialise in Supra's. If you want me to change the oil in your standard Audi it'll be £700!"

I see your point but perhaps I should be more specific.

Our agreement with our primary insurers is that we will give them imports/modifed/perfomance cars. Hence why we advertise here. This agreement gives us access to rates that are competitive for these sorts of cars.

We don't have this for standard UK cars unless there's a reason, e.g. we already insure the client's modified car, a client's wife, etc.

Without access to the market for standard UK cars, our rates will have no discount and can sometimes be high.

A brief explanation but that's ultimately how it is.

Cheers,

Alex

Maybe that's why Adrian flux can do me a good deal then because my supra is insured with them. But even still green light are only 30 pound more expensive. Does baffle me how it all works lol

Took my supra elsewhere though as I got a way better quote.
