A BIG THANKS to SKY Insurance

Yesterday i insured myself with Amlim Through SKy Insurance.. Couldnt believe how cheap they quoted me.. Im 26 with 2 years no claim and got insured for only £740 with only £350 total excess on my n/a, and i wasnt even charged extra for declaring mods such as 19" alloys, HKS exhaust and tinted windows and also being an import.

the cheapest any other company including my previous insurer ive been with for two years couldnt quote me less than around £900 without declaring mods and that its an import? averagely i was quoted £100 more than last years as supposedly the number of claims in the area has had a knock on effect??

Very Impressed with the call handler (Mark i think), first insurer/broker that knows anything about supras and i had the quote over the phone within 5 minutes and renewed the policy within another 10 mins.

I would recommed Sky Insurance to everyone, regardless of age, no claims bonus and MOdifications.

Once again many thanks to sky insurance and mkivsupra for advertising them.

Ray

Just taken out a policy with Sky.

Have been with Priviledge for past 4 years and they have just increased their renewal price by nearly £100 to £502 which considering I am an old sod and have max NCB and the car is a year older. I thought that was a bit strong.

Anyhow, the cheapest quote I had was from DNA at £259 but around £800 total excess, Sky have quoted me £350 for a years cover with Chaucer with a total excess of £350 and they don't have a problem with declared mods. Danny who dealt with the sale was very efficient and polite and answered all the questions I had without difficulty, unlike some companies I have spoken with in the past couple of days.

Admiral wouldnt even cover me over the phone for the NA which I thought was a little strange, although I could get a quote via their website:search: How weird is that?

All in all I am pleased as I now have cover for less than I have been paying with Priviledge for past couple of years, declared my mods, and have a lower excess.:)

Do you think they would insure a 20 year old on n/a manual?

If not... off to Adrian Flux or Admiral (if their online quotes are correct!) I go!

If a companys online insurance service accepts a quote but over phone they refuse to quote you, can you buy the online insurance safely in the knowledge that you are insured for the year?

I renewed mine yesterday. The quote I got from Sky was £741, the quote I got from A Flux was £440. I appreciate that there are many variables when it comes to insurance, but being 48 with full ncd and no convictions etc it amazes me that Ray007 above who is 28 with 2 years ncd pays £10 less that they quoted me. I can only assume his is third party fire and theft where mine is fully comp as I also live in greater london ? Last year when I bought the car Sky quoted me £400 I think, an increase of £341 for moving from a ME postcode to an SE3 one it seems

From my dealings with Ollie at Sky Insurance (sorting the affiliate stuff for the valver forum), I don't think they would insure you, I think you need to be over a certain age, 22 iirc.

Will Sky add a second vehicle to a policy? Some companies don't do that for these types of cars (as I found out with Adrian Flux last year!)

That's a shame because I'm probably heading towards Adrian Flux. Would be quite ideal to insure a 1.0L Pug or something for a runabout.

Most companies don't though, which is annoying.

Hi there, i was on the phone to your office this morning after getting some scary renewals from yourselves, no ones called me back yet apart from another broker who have beaten your prices by 30% on one of my cars.

I have taken out 2 new policies with this broker on both my supra and my BMW, can you please send me my proof of NCB on both these policies.

The Supra policy is A D Shaw SSP 00011904/3

The BMW policy is A D Shaw SSP 00011904/5

Regards

A D Shaw

Hi Mr Sky insurance man;), ive rang SKY up before and they would not touch me because of the area I live, is there anything that can be done as you guys have given quotes to people who are younger and have a worse history than me:(

Hi,

we review our postcode restrictions/exclusions on a regular basis. If you PM me your postcode I can check the restrictions.

Thanks

Hi all,

As you probably know Sky Insurance offer many types of insurance but we are very well known for specialising in Japanese import and modified car insurance. We insure everything from standard cars to very highly modified/customised show and competition cars.

We hold affiliations with 150+ Uk based car clubs and we offer preferential rates to any member of one of our affiliated car clubs.

We are now rolling out a bike club scheme similar to our car club scheme. Although we have been insuring bikes for some time, we have recently opened up a scheme which enables us to look at all sorts of different bike insurance risks, eg, convicted riders, new riders, custom bikes, modified bikes, performance bikes, trikes, quads, couriers, mopeds. You name it, we'll look at insuring it!

If and when you are looking around for your insurance for your bike, please call the Sky Insurance specialist bike team. If you don’t own a bike but know people who do, please recommend us. If you have a friend who wishes to be contacted to run through a quotation, feel free to encourage them to contact us using the details below or send us there details and we will contact them.

We do not have a discount to offer for the bike insurance but our rates will be looked at favourably and we are confident that in most cases we will be competitive on price and can offer a good service and level of cover.

Our contact details are:

Tel: 0208 3645500

Email: [email protected]

Web: http://www.skyinsurance.co.uk/motorbikes/index.html

Thanks for reading and we look forward to speaking to you at your insurance renewal time for your car or bike!
