toyotasuprauk
Sky were great for me again this year. I had a good quote from Adrian Flux this year but Sky managed to just about match it so I don’t have to change companies which makes life easier. Plus Adrian Flux were quite pushy saying there price was the cheapest around etc I prefer the service you get from sky. I highly recommend them! toyo rob
mine's up friday and i paid up like a good boy yesterday, i'm a bit disappointed but not too bad i guess, been with Sky for 3 years now, have 4 yrs NCB cars down with the new bits i've having done now, front bumper, side skirts, rear bumper, respray, added to exhaust and bonnet and they came up with £880. as usual i did check around, elephant came up with £750 then admiral came up with £560 but then a couple of other sites came up with the usual £1200+. thing that does annoy me is that, and guys be careful, the Spectrum breakdown that i get with my cover every year DOESN'T cover cars 15 years or older so this year the wont offer the breakdown cover (and just my luck this is the first year i am actually going to drive abroad!!) Aero-M
Agreed great service and price, the only company who actually knows what an aerotop means. Lets just hope Michael doesn't see these latest insurance posts.
jacko
Big thanks to Sky for sorting me out with a really good price earlier on my RZ, initially they said they couldnt offer me fully comp insurance as i wasnt over 25, but after a while they rang back and said they had managed to sort it. I'm 21, will be 22 when cover starts (even though it says i have to be 23 on first page of the topic?), 4 years NCB, mods declared, drive other cars third party- £1196!!! £100 cheaper than Bell quoted me Edited April 8, 2009 by jacko (see edit history)

Guest gzaerojon
just thought i'd warn a few of you that when my insurance came up for renewal i did not want another year as my car had been off the road and was going to continue to me off the road. my insurance automatically renewed and i was sent out a new certificate, i phoned sky and was told it was already done and there wasn't much i could do apart from cancel and lose a part of the premium. so i thought i'd carry it on. then i got a letter detailing a problem with my ncb and that they wanted another £150, so i thought enough is enough and i just told them to cancel it and i send back my certificate. a good few months later i realized i was still having payments to amber select taken from my account, when i phoned sky they said i was only refunded £130 for the years policy and that i owe the balance to amber, they also had no record of me canceling the policy and had not received my certificate. so just to say i'm over £700 out of pocket for a policy i did not even want. sky were not helpfull at all in investigating this. I WILL CERTAINLY NOT be using there services again.
dannyspeed
I just like to add that when sky give you a renewal quote, ring round as most of the time you will always get a better quote. I was with sky for 4 years and although I was happy with the service, I found there renewal quote's excessive. Every year the quote never came down, it seem to go up. And considering I was insured from 23 to 27 surely this is the time when insurance should be dropping. Especially if your adding to your no claims. So every year I was unhappy with the renewal and although sky match the cheaper quote every time, it just seems insurace companys relie on people lazyness not to ring round. I just don't like the fact that they don't give a fair renewal quote to start with, but can then drop well over £100 when you get a better quote elseware. So god knows how many people out there just accept there renewal, but this is how insurance companys make a killing. Classic case of "brand new customers only" In the end I joined adrian flux as every year they were beating my renewal by alot, and they do agreed value. But I'm sure the renewal from them will be the same thing. So ring round people. I'm not just saying sky are the only one's to do this, every insurance company does it! Guest krakkos
yeah, all insurance companies do this... you need to move around every year... right pain in the arse... and you're right... why can't they offer a better quoteyear or year... don't they realise that in the long run you're more likely to stay rather than leave ot find a cheaper quote.. martini
I'm 25, but have no No Claims as I haven't owned a car previously to this. I have experience of driving many cars, including many performance cars - but never on my own policy. Do you think Sky are the people to sort me out, or should I contact Bell and Admiral. Admiral wanted about £2000 as I am in the centre of Manchester...
Safely Insured
£2000 sounds like a bloody good price to me. I'd be surprised if anyone would do it for less than that. I am Jae. Safely Insured
I'd advise you to go with whichever company your comfortable with, if your happy to pay £2000 for insurance. In my opinion I don't think you'll find anyone to it for much less than that
martini
What is the order of factors here? i.e. is it location primarily? ( I might consider moving out of the centre) age? lack of NCB? I am a Dr. - a scientific researcher at the University of Manchester. Does that count for anything? (I think it does with Admiral).
