Obviously just my opinion but the aerotop must be the worst looking excuse for an open top ever designed. It is neither open (as it the style of most proper open top cars) nor functional (as in the ratchet opening and closing etc).

It ruins the lines and lflow of the car and looks as if someone took a saw to the roof to cut out a block. To my mind, it looks nothing more than a complete afterthought.

:yeahthat: I think the Supras lines don't suit the Aero at all, hardtops always look lower, more aggressive and longer IMO.

I voted VVTI

If it's a show car that your building again matey then i would go with the Aerotop and swap all your bits engine, turbos etc etc over to the new car (as long as your old stuff is still ok? was your engine still running?) Did you ask KR if they could cut the body bits of your old car to fit to a new one?

Saying that you could break your old one then just buy gaz's and fit your new wheels and have the body bits put on and have a JamieP look alike :) Plus its single and manual, just an idea :)

Again matey if you need a hand you know where i am :)

I don't see what the problem is with the aerotop.

If you want it to behave like the hardtop, you bolt the roof on. Simple! You'll barely feel any difference (if at all) when the roof is on an aerotop when compared to a hardtop. (We've owned 2 of each and driven both types on tracks many times too.) The lines of the car are the same with the roof on, so there's no really obvious visual difference.

As for the appearance with the roof off, that's really just personal preference. But it's a targa top - targas are supposed to just look like a hardtop until the removable panel is taken out. Corvette Coupes are just the same - as are Porsche Targas. When the roof is removed, it's not meant to look like a full convertible! And the Supra roof is bolted in to make the car more rigid - it wouldn't achieve this with a lever-type securing mechanism. That's why it is still just as good as a hardtop when the roof is on.

But if you have an aerotop and the weather is right, you have a CHOICE. That's the difference.

Aerotop every time for me.

Roof Off: (Who could resist driving with the roof off in this scenery?)

i would want a TT aerotop 6 speed

1.because they dont make them RHD

2. because they are rare

3. because thats what i want

you can make it look like a facelift for not to much cash anyway, i did

Exactly.

Interior wont be facelift, but the dash im not that keen on (aside from the dash covering, it seems nicer than early cars)

That 5th dial isnt worth the fuss!
