Gerry
I know that there's been threats of people track racing a Supra on here over the past few years, but does anybody race anything ? Often go to Castle Combe and see all sorts racing there, single make, single models races as well as Speciat GT's and stuff. Do any of you track race reguarly ? Think CW may do (or has done in the past) any body else... Just interested

Gerry
Yes, that's what started me thinking - I wondered if anybody on here raced old minis, kitcars or anything. Would be brilliant seeing a Supe do well on a track
AJI
I race Formula Ford and Caterham R400's... but only when I have the funds to do so. Without a proper sponsor, motor racing these days is financially prohibitive for many good racers. I've done also one proper rally event which was awessome. But again even rallying to be in a decent car and be competative you need loads of money. (Which I don't have)

Lots of bits left on the track after they have done. Seems you need to either have a fair bit of money or own a garage (which lots seem to do) to do OK racing - sadly neither in my case ! Hope you get to do it again, give us a heads up if you do
Sean1933
I have done a bit of racing here and there. In a year or so when i am hopefully in a better position i hope to buy an NA supra, strip it COMPLETELY, small single tubby and run it as a pretty much track only car. Now that will be fun
AJI
Racing Caterhams and Formula Fords is very similar to be honest. The caterhams feel a bit quicker in a straight line once in the higher gears but the Formula Fords are great on the brakes and the corners. Everyone in the same car type always makes for close competative racing. Track days are a good laugh but racing other people on track is a whole different ball game. If any of you get the chance it is something that you must do in your life time !

SteveL
steve was doing the time attack Moi... yeah baby.... really got the bug this year, check this out : http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=133161 Yes, that's what started me thinking - I wondered if anybody on here raced old minis, kitcars or anything. Would be brilliant seeing a Supe do well on a track ... definately would... I'm gonna try my best next year in the time attack again. Just need a few more supporters to make me go faster 10th out of 32 cars at Brands wasn't bad, considering the lack of setup time we had.... and considering 8 of the 10 were 4WD's ! It was satisfying beating a load of skylines / scoobies and evos.
