Pete
I went to Wagamamas for dinner tonight and was sat next to two Oriental looking guys so thought I'd say hi. It turned out they were students from Kazetstan. Naturally the first thing that pops into my head is "Borat!"...but I restrained myself. "Oh, what's it like?" I managed. They proceeded to tell me about it, what degrees they're doing, one of them has lived in Toronto, Paris, Germany and now Birmingham to study etc. Conversation hit a lull when he turns to me and says "Do you know Borat?". They actually admired Sacha Baron Cohen saying it was funny and they didn't find it offensive and that the Americans should find it more offensive. They also said it's nothing like the movie, that he found it funny that many people in the UK thought it was a made up country and he even said "I like" just like Borat does!
