Question Re Gear Knob change

Hi. just bought mesel a new Momo Gear Knob and came to put it on but it doesnt fit right. Basically the old one (Standard) was a screw on and this aint. It comes with a spring which ive used and managed to get it on and secure but it sits too high on the shaft and as a result there is a gap underneath before the lift up reverse.

Has anyone else had any problems like this? If so how was it solved cos it doesnt look right from side (see photo). Or is it just the gear knob and its unavoidable?

Cheers

I've just recently fitted a momo gear knob, it wasn't lift up reverse but I modified it so it would accept the lift up collar.

I shortened the gear stick shaft quite a bit using a hacksaw and modified the momo knob so it would screw on to the remaining threads.

Not sure how yours is fitted, you might be able to cut it down aswell! :)

My Momo didn't fit either. I just drilled out some more from the gearknob and it sat further down.

Measure what sort of gap you have and then what's left to drill out of the gearknob (O/L minus the hole depth) otherwise the drill bit will end up poking through the top

Wouldn't feel happy myself hacksawing the gear stick shaft!
