ST202 Celica Front Bumper Removal

About to tackle this on my brother's UK ST202 Celica, but don't want to get half-way and get stuck on something simple.

Does anyone have a diagram of where the fixing points are?

Hi mate, up to a month ago i worked at toyota, although i never had to remove a celica front bumper all new toyotas are much of a muchness.

All 10mm bolts, one or two behind wing liners, row of bolts above and below bumper(from memory under trim at top). and clips under headlamps, may have to slip headlamps out but usually not.

hope this helps but this is a good forum if you get stuck:

Few things to watch when doing this one - it takes longer than you think!

Watch out for the nuts securing the bumper to the wings, there are three of these on each side and the top one is tricky to get at to say the least. Access is through the inner arch plastic liner.

Also, it is difficult to figure out how the pastic fixings come off and they are easily broken. Some of them you press in the middle and then pull them out, some of them you have to screw out while exerting pressure upwards. I just ended up breaking the ones on the upper metal retainer (long thin metal bit across the very top) due to frustration.

A lot of patience required!!

Ian.

I wish I'd seen this post before now re plastic fixings - was trying for ages to push the centre in on one only to get a light on it to see the screwdriver point.

Other than that it was ok - thanks for the advice guys. Needed a 2 ft extender bar to get to that top bolt though.

Still - saved around 1 hr of labour charges. ;)
