merckx
I've just removed my old alarm and I'm going to fit my Toad AI606. Most of the wiring will connect in to the same places as the old alarm . But I'll need to check them first. The two circuits that were immobilsed had fairly heavy duty wires - much thicker than the wires from the alarm. I'm not sure if this is wise as they could be overloaded. I didn't want to post the colour of the wires on here! Anyone know the rating of the Toad AI606 immobiliser circuits, which circuits would you wire them into. For correct operation, at least one of the immobilisation circuits must be ignition live and live while cranking.. DO NOT MAKE IMMOBILISER CONNECTIONS TO THE NEGATIVE SIDE OF THE IGNITION COIL. Note it is not possible to immobilise a permanent 12V supply :upside:

Matt Harwood
The Toad Ai606 immobiliser circuits can take a continous 15a and a surge/peak of 30. It's limited by the cabling as the internal relays are 30/40a. Most of the wires I suspect your looking at are far heavier than they need to be. Obviously, I don't know what your cutting, but most of the wires that run the car, don't go above 8a at any time.
merckx
Cheers Matt, I was hoping you could help. Looking forward to getting the speakers and stuff, I thought I would start fitting the alarm in the mean time.
Matt Harwood
Sounds about right, but I'd edit that if I were you
weinelm
Hi, I recently fitted one of these alarms to my car. Highly recommended. Lots of wires! But fairly straight forward if you take your time. I've got loads of info that I collected while I was doing it. Including the full Toad Intructions, with details of how to set the software options, etc. Also, can tell you the colours of most wires you need and where to find them in the car. Only problem is this stuff is back at home and I'm not back there till new year! Give me a shout if you still need anything then.
merckx
Give me a shout if you still need anything then. Cheers I've managed to trace and check out the connections in the car that the previous alarm used, everything is there that I need. Took a while to figure out where to put the main control box but I've got a good place now. I'm going to start the fitting tomorrow weather permitting.
