madmunky
My cars due for its MOT in feb but i want to make sure it passes ok and get anything sorted which may cause it to fail, is there anywhere which lists all the things which are checked for the MOT so i can do my own pre MOT? Cheers
colsoop
It has been posted before on here. The main things that fail Supras are emissions. brakes (pads) and lights.

There are failures for play but unless your car has been abused or done mega miles i don't see it being an issue.
juanchan
Just find a decent MOT place. The advisory for suspension bushings my Supra got in summer 06 disappeared in summer
wHIZz
Good point, that could be quite useful. I worked in a garage about 18 years ago, think that was the last time I saw the checklist! Maybe you could email Department for Transport and ask them for the details? - tell them you want it under FOI! wHIZz

DannoSupra
Make sure your headlights are alligned, all exterior lights working, indicators flash orange, tyres are good, no rips, baldness, wipers! etc etc... Those are most of the stuff you can do at home/diy. if you got a ramp, just check, with a prybar, for any play in bushes, and need to check wheel bearings, As previousy said, Brakes too! some MOT stations are really fusy, and some pass a car easy! Or you can pay £20 for a pre MOT Good Luck
RICHARDA
ahh a tester and in west sussex where about are you mate I work out of Shit-Fit in Worthing and being a large national company we are heavily QC'd and audited so unfortunately no 'friendly' MOT's as far as emissions are concered. But I can give good honest advice and no one gets ripped off.

Lee P
Take it to Olly at Owen Garages Haywards Heath, he's a friend of mine and he can do pre mot checks. I think he charges £10. 01444 452890. Give him a bell, tell him I passed on the number Lee
