terribleturner
OMG Have you seen this before. I came up with a similar idea a while back, but have put it on hold. More info can be found here.
Trig
That is pretty damn good. You would still have to know where the cameras were. But good thinking tho. I had been thinking of a rotating numberplate(James Bond Aston Martin style ) and try a few things with that.
martynb
That is so cool. I've got a friend who has got a flip-up lever affair on his bikes but never seen the LCD trick. Wonder how long they would last in a uk winter?
baojun
Have you really got time to switch on and off when coming to a camera?

JustGav
Sorry to say guys... But if the blue pulled you over and you had these things over your plates... it would be most unpleasant... you are looking at a perverting the course of justice charge... Not saying I wouldn't try them tho
martynb
those would be the police that used to patrol the roads? Yeah - seriously you are right and most of these obscuring things are sooo obvious. A dirty plate on the other hand...

dangerous brain
yeah but what the guy is saying is that it will be incorporated into the plastic part of a standard plate so that it won't be obvious. As long as the wiring to it is descreet theres quite a high possibility that you could drive around with the thing blanked out virtually permanently. If you get pulled by an unmarked car with video you could have a spot of explainin to do but apart from that you are gonna be pretty sorted. What you could do with in reality is something that just blurs the numbers up. They are not allowed to visually alter or use image rendering on any camera speeding device so you shouldn't get had by a camera that way. If the LED panel was instead of one entire panel just being an area around the numbers it would work a treat.
