HKS SSQV on a UK Spec Auto

Epic

Recommended Posts

Hardly any point if you want it for sound, Epic.

Your UK Spec has a Mass Air Flow sensor, unlike the JDM variant. MAF measurement requires the surplus gasses released by the stock valve which recirculate back into the system in order to calculate fueling.

So essentially, you'll have a pricey BOV which will have to blow back into the system, not to air.

If you want to test this theory, vent the stock one to atmosphere and try to rev the car lightly. It will most probably choke and struggle to idle.

how do i go about venting the stock one.. i dont think it would be worth the hassle if im going to fuck things up. and how comes its alright to have on a manual but not an auto? i love the recirc sound you get from changing the air filter but iv put the standard box back on as i dont want to cause any damage to anything
