Guest nickbirt
Hi Guys, Everytime I go to refuel and undo the fuel cap I get a big woosh of air blowing out of the tank. Im thinking blocked breathers but cant understand why it blows and not sucks. This doesnt seem to be affecting the car at all, its just strange, unless they all do that? LOL Any ideas? Cheers Nick

Class One
'Tis normal. It's a rush of air going IN to replace the vacuum left by the petrol leaving your tank to go in the engine. . I found it was always good when filling from empty to full, to periodically stop and take the fuel filler out to a;low the breather system to "catch up" otherwise quite often you could end up being doused in fuel as the air (now in the tank and with nowhere to go) pushes the petrol back out. Not good.

Havard
You can eliminate this problem by drilling a small hole in the bottom of the tank....!! H.
Guest nickbirt
Havard, I could tell you a very funny story about a guy I once knew who had to drain a fuel bowser and was just about to do that very thing to get the last drops out! cheers
