Paul R
Hi, Anyone got any tips on how to sell my 1995 GTO MR TT? I know it's not a good time of year but i'd like to flog it and buy a supra, until next year when I want to buy a special supra! Dont seem to get any interest really. It was dead hard to get the car in the first place (MR version is quite sought after).............Always takes me ages to sell my cars lol Paul. Class One
Specific forum and PH. I got a couple of obvious emails via PH that were dodgy but I would never have considered ebay or Autotrader. Inafct Autotrader seems predominently filled with Trade ads these days.
Paul R
I'll put her on pistonheads then..........I've used autotrader in the past - too expensive!!! Ebay has been good to me, as long as you make a nice flashy advert. I've sold a couple of cars on ebay but I got fed up with people emailing me saying can I end the auction early for 3k less than i have the car advertised for!!!! Piston heads it is I think Paul. ozz
Most of the cars I have bought have been from Ebay. Bought and sold quite a few on there, from cheap run arounds upto 5.5k for a BMW, 4k for a frontie, 3.5k on a different frontie. Never had a problem. I prefer ebay to traditional private ads as you don't often get the faults listed on private ads but you do normally on ebay. I've had the frontie I bought off ebay for 3 years now, great motor. Sure you need to use common sense but no difference from going to see a car in the flesh. I just sold my NA but not sure which source - either ebay or PH. Pete
I sold a Supra on eBay no problem at all. It's all down to the advert in my experience. Provide all information, loads of photos etc then you'll get serious enquiries. The loser emails don't take long to delete.
Gord R
Iv had some good results through ebay , sold quite a few cars through there now. I’m my Opinion its not just where you sell it its how you sell it , make sure you give a good description picking out key areas but don’t write an essay about the car , be realistic with your price esp at this time of year , be accurate with the description , and one thing im big on is pictures. Pictures can sell a car I feel , take lots of them in decent light and of decent quality. Finally if anyone does turn up to look at it make sure it is spotless. There is nothing worse than turning up to look at a car to find its not as described , nothing like in the pics , and is filthy dirty, really sacks me off. Going back to where to advertise it, ph always good but I don’t get much feedback through there, owners clubs are always good too.
Todd
God, there are more miserable old farts on gtouk than there are on here........not one of them has replied to my thread about selling my car lol............barstuards! Aye it's some place, when I was there you weren't even allowed to become a member unless you had a GTO! Pistonheads and ebay for me, yes you get idiots on ebay but you reach a far larger audience, I nearly always end up selling after the end of the auction to someone that has spotted the car. Free ads as well, adtrader, your local shop windows, tesco and asda and of course, big advert in the car windows.
tarcase
Location is everything. Try and get it on a busy road. We have been trying to sell a Land Rover for weeks and after two days on the main A4 on the grass verge with large price tag in the window - it has gone.
