yeah i saw that, but im looking to get in mid to late decmber, no doubt it be gone by then :(

Samsung LE26S86BD 26" LCD HD TV is the Samsung I remember seeing, but I think its been discontinued ?

did a quick search on google and looks like its been replaced but isnt 1080p :(

Basically more vertical lines, more resolution although thats simplifying it a bit.

Perhaps people say 26" is too small for 1080i because even HD ready resolutions on that size screen look pretty good.

so is 1080p better than 1080i or vice versa? sorry, all this i's, p's, hdtv's, lcd's and stuff is doing my h.e.a.d in! lol

1080p is better. I dont think they make a 26" 1080p TV as there isn't much point what with it being relatively small.

i = interlaced

p = progressive

1080i is 50 half-frames per second, the equivalent of 25 full frames, where a full frame is 1920x1080 pixels.

1080p is 50 full frames per second, where each frame is 1920x108.

From what I've read, 1080p is more future proof.

I've had both demo'ed, FWIW I found it really hard to spot the difference.

I really dont see the point in owning a 1080p TV so small, you really arnt going to see the difference over a lower res at a distance imho.

I think 1080p is only worth investing in for bigger screens (40" +)

thanks, exactly the answer i was looking for, read it somewhere but needed convincing. any suggestions on whats hot at the moment? im ok to go to 32" i reckon now....

Dunno really, I'm not really up to speed on all the sets, but my mate picked up a 40" Sony for £750 which is 1300 odd res, which is kinda a halfway house, and his looks really sharp.

If you're buying for a TV get a 32" minimum :)

cool i'll keep looking, wouldnt mind a pioneer kuro :D

never gonna happen though :(

need to go window shopping soon so i can get an idea of what i want :)

aesthetically Samsung are appealing right now....
