I don't know anything of the hesitation but I sincerely hope that the road you decided to do that sort of speed on was straight and completely traffic free. Daston
Take it this was on private land? Could be the delimiter?
wilkorangerover
just on this bypass at 3 am this morning, never tested it properly before......... maybe something to do with restrictor ring...... i think it was something to do with back pressure, like a popping noise
d00gzy
sounds like limiter, i get the same at 112 or whatever it is!

Give the guy a break mate, I've been following you doing similar speeds in less than ideal conditions....
Homer
Did it stop accelrating when it occured? If so, probably 112mph limiter. If it carried on trying then it'll be a misfire, time to change the plugs/check your fueling.

Wez
Have you got a boost gauge? Its possible with the cold weather and load on the engine that you may be hitting boost cut.
wilkorangerover
yes, 1.05 bar... 1.2 restrictor ring
Wez
Was it deff 1.05 bar on the run or is that what you normally run? Does your gauge have a peak and hold function?

DamanC
Easiest and cheapest thing to look at is to change your plugs, I kno you have but just try some cheapo NGK's
wilkorangerover
iridium plugs have only done 150 miles
DamanC
It doesnt matter.
RobSheffield
Who fitted the iridiums? As suggested to Tom id look to progressively open out the Restrictor ring as trial and error to increase boost to 1.2 BUT i would definately check fueling first. What fuel pump is on it? Who fitted it? Perhaps get AFR guage or have it dynod by a competant company who can check to ensure it doesnt go lean.
Nic
Might be worth changing the thread title and first post, this is a public forum and you never know who is watching.
