dazla
I'm having some problems with my neighbour. We fell out a month ago because i was having a new roof and he didnt like and got jealous:rolleyes:. He's in his 50's and lives with another man and are both abit odd but usually nice. Now this neighbour is very clued up on all the latest gadgets and has nothing better to do except make a load of noise at night when i'm in bed with his dodgy phone scanners. He can cover upto a 4 mile radius with his scanners, He listens to peoples phone conversations:blink: and i can hear every word at night. The other night he was listening to a little girl singing to her dad over the phone, now thats just not right. He has 10 cameras on his house covering all areas of front and back and has a big monitor in his front room. I went round once for a brew and noticed one of the cameras is pointed directly onto my back living room window but not intentionally (i think) I've put up with his noise and invasion of privacy for 8 years now and said nothing. If i go round and complain i'll just end up knocking him out as he an arrogant ba$tard anyway. I'm just thinking of telling the police about his scanners but i'm not sure if this is a serious offence. What the hell should i do:rolleyes:

That's right Michael:d Thing is i dont want the guy to go to prison or anything. Just want to get one over on him. I think he watches when i go to bed on his camera and then he puts his scanners on at about 11.30pm. Me and the missus have to sleep with ear plugs in. How bad is that! michael
Will you be able to provide us with a plan drawing of the area and descriptions of your attractive neighbours? Worth an off the record chat with the local police I would have thought, they might refer the noise issue to the council but the cameras and scanner might be of interest to them. edge
Arent phone scanners illegal in this country?? Paul. No. But only if you are just listening. He will only have the basic analogue type scanners. But cheap devices can be had/made for very little money. Oldest trick is some wire wool on one of the old blue sqaure batteries. I have never tried it but you can get alot of things that will make noise (noise to a scanner) that you can just plug in and hey presto his hobbies gone. ivan
Wait until he and his partner settle down early morning and blast them out with LOUD music?
Supragal
I would avoid an argument at all costs. Neighbour arguments are rarely resolved and will cause you major hassle and heartache. I wouldn't be happy about the camera looking into my house, but, on the flip side you might be grateful one day if you got burgled etc? At most you could speak to him, explain about the noise at night- he may genuinely not know that you can hear. It's not like music turned up really loud which obviously people can hear. I just think that if you say you're not happy about him watching you (which isn't suprising!) and he wants to be silly about it he'll just put up more and invade your privacy more. Scott
If he has one of those wireless doorbells, try to get the same one. Find out his frequency when he's not there then everytime he starts his crap hit the doorbell" When he changes frequency you change frequency. That doesn't solve your problem but it certainly "gets one over" on him. Scott =op

He uses them to speak on aswell. You can hear the fuzz as he's trying to pick his buddy's up. Rubber duck and all that bollocks. We live in a semi detached house and our chimney is built into theres. We have 1 Ariel and he has 6 and i dont mean small tv aerials, they are the massive telescopic ones.
