gsportcars
I think it is just the exhaust housing that is master power. The core and the compressor housing are genuine garrett as far as I can see. The compressor housing has garrett written on it. Here is the fleabay link from where I bought the turbo. All the exact specs are there. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&sspagename=STRK%3AMERFB%3AIID&viewitem=&item=150163183490&rd=1 When you say doesn't have enough flow, how exactly do you mean? Exhaust housing can't flow air out quick enough, or compressor can't flow air in quick enough etc etc???
gsportcars
Ok, I was finally able to do a proper boost leak test and I did find a few very minor leaks and one vacuum pipe feed from the inlet manifold that was leaking. I sorted all the leaks until it was fully sealed and still the shuttering is happening. There is a noticable difference in how quickly the boost rises which of course is only a good thing but I am still left with the original problem. Can any of you guys shed any light on the possibility of the turbo itself being the problem as mentioned above??
Tricky-Ricky
Did you ever get to the bottom of this problem?
