Mike_Mac
History: Bare 2JZ-GTE engine, 110,798 miles in a stock J-Spec, only BPU'd to 1.0 Bar for ~ last 1000 miles. The HG blew due to overheating in the cooling system when I bought it. The head was skimmed, valve seats lapped in and clearences re-shimmed after which it ran well. Later a set of CW sourced Stock Turbos were put on and the engine was de-catted to 1.0 bar. Just after that the Front Main Seal blew. It was replaced by CW, but went again around 600 miles later - see thread here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=108524&highlight=front+main+seal See especially post #33 and #42. CW's answer after investigating was here: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=114270&highlight=crankshaft+the+answer Although that thread pointed to just the oil pump being the cause I decided that the chances of it not being a worn Oil Pump were too great and replaced it. The engine is now palleted up in East Devon. I have stripped the throttle body piping, turbos (excellent condition, so using as spares) and Crank Pulley Damper. It may just be the oil pump being worn by muck from the Head work, or there may be deeper damage in the bottom end - the engine did run brilliantly except for the FMS popping, but I didn't have the money to risk being wrong. I need to free up some cash for Christmas, so it's up for sale. The buyer would have to collect or pay the courier fees (200kg engine!! Open to offers. Mike_Mac
The best offer i've had so far is £200.00 collected, but that guy can't get the money for a while, so was happy for me to try elsewhere. I'd be happy with anything over that offer. If you want to have a look over it I can give you the details of the garage it's stored in?
Spoony
can you post a picture?
Mike_Mac
Will try and get some pictures up by tomorrow early pm at the latest (probably far simpler for showing what's on there to be honest. One thing I forgot to say (apologies - doh!) is that I had to remove the loom to put on my new engine, which came from a manual. The manual loom is not in a condition that I would want to pass it on, as i've cannibalised it for bits. Therefore it is a loomless bare auto engine. Ric
you should notify the DVLA of the new engine number

dangerous brain
Problem with the 2jz is trying to find the engine number. I'm not sure its even listed on the V5
Mike_Mac
Top tip is to read it on the engine before you install it as it's a nightmare to read when installed, as the throttle body totally blocks it from above. I still need to check the one on my new engine and inform DVLA.
