Conrad
It totally serves me right, I opened a .exe file online and all hell's broke loose! I knew I shouldn't have risked opening it but I did! Apart from the adware, total slow down of pc, crashing of XP etc I'm getting 3 errors. One's a Regsvr32 error and the other 2 are RunDLL errors. All 3 refer to a .dll that couldn't be found or access denied etc. The errors are too long to post up here and I can't find them on net. I'm guessing I need some kind of registry cleaning tool? AVG has found plenty on my PC and removed it but to no avail. I can't do a system restore as I have no restore points! Any suggestions?

Start again, format c: I was under the impression that these restore points were automatic. They are for my PC anyway
michael
I was under the impression that these restore points were automatic. They are for my PC anyway You can turn them off or reduce the number of them, usually to save disk space.
