North Shropshire has a lot of unspoilt areas, not as many as south Shropshire, but still a lovely area to potentially live. Depends whether you want to be out in the sticks or in a proper small town or village. Wem has a bit of rowdyism at night, but what they call rowdyism round here is not what I called rowdyism when i lived near Manchester! Serious crime out in the sticks is very rare. Property prices are on the fall, but still strong. tell me what sort of place you are thinking of and I can recommend areas to view and avoid. Budget guide would help, obviously, should you wish to post it.

Wrexham is in a different country, they speak a funny tongue there, so I tend to avoid it ;)

Good stuff Chris. Location could be either sticks or small town. The wifes a paediatric nurse and knows of a couple of childrens hospices around this area. Budget is between £250,000 and £300,000.

Property needs to be detatched with fair size garden to accomodate wifes allotment needs and I need at least a big single or pref double garage. I'll gladly supply any more info if required.

Who needs Phil & Kirsty?:)

BTW Chris is Mrs Gregory still doing the B&B in the old Manor up the road?

Many thanks

Rich

John Gregory's sister is still doing the B&B at the farm in Ash, yes, and John is still sinking his 10 or so pints at the pub nearby!

Local estate agents include Halls, Barbers, Wright Manley, Reeds Rains, Paul F Rowley, and probably others I can't recall.

Wright Manley have an interesting property on offer opposite us, it's a detached 3 bedroom house, that was a repossession, and I guess it will go to auction in the end, as the price is wildly optimistic. The previous owners dug a 2.5 acre lake, and did a nice job of it. The property sits in about 5.5 acres and there's a big detached garage/ workshop too. The house needs tidying, but isn't a wreck by any means. Bought cheap it would have a lot of potential to landscape the grounds further and make it truly stunning outside.

The garage has a pit, too :)
