davidd
first direct ( http://www.firstdirect.com ) do well in various sunday financial press/market surveys/industry awards for products & customer service. not necessarily best rates but good reputation... need to decide what you want - cheapness vs. quality
geoffvalenti
I use First Direct. Always someone to speak to on the phone, rather than those infuriating menus. Stick your money in at any HSBC branch, online bill paying and money transfers is easy. I'm quite happy with them, been with them a couple of years now. Faye
I'm very happy with the Nationwide Flexaccount - get a nice rate of interest from the e-savings account that accompanies it too

Thorin
I've been happy with HSBC for years the online stuff works great and their credit card is a good rate too (9.9% I believe).

CJ
Barclays are scum! Charging me 27.5% on a loan and credit card!!! Ah but did you think they were scum when they agreed to lend you and you signed of your own volition? I have used Abbey for years and have no complaints. toyotasuprauk
Barclays are scum! Charging me 27.5% on a loan and credit card!!! 27.5% is way too much to be paying for any credit card these days you should easily be able to half that at least.
