I have a 2000 Toyota Aristo V300VE, got a question abt single turbo upgrade

Hi guys,

New member here. I've been driving a 2000 Aristo V300VE with pretty much all the BPU++ upgrades available and am itching to move up to a single turbo kit. My 1st choice right now is the Boost Logic kit that's offered by Vortex, but I've been reading up the threads here and I understand that this kit will bolt right up to a vvti 2jz-gte motor but cannot be tuned? Would a piggyback like Dastek Unichip or Greddy E-Manage resolve any issues with vvt-i?

I am ready to purchase right now, but I am just held back because I am not sure if the turbo kit will even work on my car. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Here are some recent pics of the car, by the way:

Thanks!

Thanks for the wonderful comments guys. I will wait for Terry to jump in on this thread and help me out. Who knows, he might make a customer out of me! Heck, even Kean Wang (Boost logic USA) told me to contact Terry because he would have a better info abt single turboing a vvti 2JZ.

As for my upper polished radiator pipe, it's a Night Pager item from Japan and it comes with a water bypass module as well as a water temperature probe. Pretty nifty item, except that I had to wait for almost 6 mths to get them to Indonesia.

Where'd you see a pic of my boot install? :rtfm:

Hi Mate,

Please PM me and I will run through the various bits. Despite what the Chis says the MAP ECU works just fine. His bitch is with the lack of timing adjustment, but it works just fine on the fuelling.

The V300 Aristo was the ONLY car I was willing to have as a family car.

Best of both worlds. 4 doors, comfortable cruiser for wife and kid, but still kicks some serious butt on the open road. They don't know what hit em :)

The MkI and MkII are just as good. MkI's are good value for money if you want a fast second family car.

Pete

ps. I still have the Supra :) but not for long if the wife had here way.

Yes, what mods have you done to the car, Pete? As far as stock twin turbos go, I am pretty much stuck with nothing else to go for but single turbo. I am at that stage right now to either leave it as it is and enjoy sub 400hp figures, or go single and try to hit the 550hp mark like Terry's vvti Supra. I would love to get more input from you Pete, since you also have a V300 like I do.

I own mine in Indonesia so you cannot use the price I paid for it as a gauge, especially with the 150% car tax that the govt slap on imported cars here. I paid close to USD60,000 used for my car with only 18,000km on it.

Hi Jon, thanks for sharing the info about this club. I will be following this thread closely. I hope Terry won't mind sharing the info with me as i practically have the same powerplant in my car. I am happy to see Peter from TRL here as well. I only have praises for his adjustable boost cut controller. It's been working wonders on my 2JZ GTE vvt-i. Anyway, let me seat back now and enjoy the wealth of information from guys who actually know a thing or two about the vvt-i 2JZ GTE :D

Looks great in those pics, but it's just clicked with me - it's a GS300 isn't it?

I knew they had a 2jz-gte gs300 with some name or other, i presume this is the one.

Shame really 'cause I'm not exactly taken by the looks of the GS300, but yours looks great.

It would be called a GS300 in the US or in Europe if it only had the N/A 2JZ powerplant. But mine's the twin turbo version and it would be called an Aristo.
