Charlotte
I'm going to Poland to see my dad next week - he has been having chemo for the last few months and is really suffering with it. He can't use his hands as they shake and he finds it difficult to concentrate on anything, although he does read a bit. He's generally fed up with being inside all the time but he can't really leave the house. I'm wondering if anyone can think of anything for me to buy him that he can do/will stop him from being bored?

Charlotte
Audio books? I thought that but he keeps telling me he finds it hard to concentrate so I'm thinking that won't be any good. It's difficult.
Havard
Sorry to hear this Charlotte, i had no idea! Does he listen to music? How about a portable DVD player? Difficult question to answer. Hope he gets well soon!! H.
Charlotte
Sorry to hear this Charlotte, i had no idea! Why would you? Does he listen to music? How about a portable DVD player? Difficult question to answer. Hope he gets well soon!! H. That's why I thought I'd ask, I'm so stuck for something to get! He likes music and dvds but as I say, he can't concentrate. I was thinking of some kind of exercise/brain type thing but I wouldn't even know where to start!

juanchan
How much are you looking to spend? If you're after some brain exercise things, those Nintendo DS's Brain Training games look quite good.

juanchan
A girl at work just bought one with a couple of games and it cost her about £140 I think. Not exactly DVD money unfortunately.

Mrs H
I paid £114 including brain training and an accessory pack from GAME. I really enjoy it, it's got suduko on as well as the training games. Vicki x

Class One
Very, and he can't even have sex! Ewww my dad having sex ugh. He must of at some point....... I expect in all seriousness, that just having you visit will be a great lift for him. I know you don't get to visit as much as you like, and I expect that is the thing he's looking forward to most. juanchan
Forgot about that! I'm sure he'll be searching for "ewww" when he returns though I've also just realised that that play.com bundle is out of stock, but as Mrs H says, there's probably similar to be had on the high street. Chewie
My mate had shaking hand syndrome so all the lads bought him a set of maracas and a tamborine. Turned out it was Parkinsons but he still laughed.
