Markie
Just wondering what it is on the end of the fuel rail by the bulk head? I can see the injectors on the rail but at the end is another plug and just wondering what it does? Is it some sort of fuel primer or something? Would be nice if someone could help as I currently have my head under the bonnet and wondering why my alarm is taking a feed off it. Thanks.. Steve
It maybe a fuel cut off device. If the alarm goes off it cuts off the fuel to rail, to stop it starting.
Markie
Ill have to grab the camera.. It is deffo part of the rail but its been spliced for the alarm.

Steve
Here is a quick pic. That looks like one of the injector plugs.
Markie
Yeah VVTi. Not one of the injector plugs are I have counted them and there are 6 plus this one at the end of the rail

Ian C
It's either a crude form of immobilisation by putting the power to the injectors or it's a shockingly bad bodge to power the alarm. Taking power away from the injector feed isn't a good idea as it can affect the injector opening times. I see you have an earthing kit, I'm envious of your smoother idle and better throttle response and all other things unquantifiable -Ian

Ian C
Hot Earth "can" show these benefits Gain torque and horsepower Better throttle response Improved fuel efficiency Brighter headlights Reduced emissions Reduced audio noise I was taught once by a very good sales bloke that as soon as the words "can" or "could" or "up to" appear in an advert, dismiss any and all of it's claims there and then. Usually it coincides with things that can't actually be measured. Like eyelash volume or probiotic bacteria making you "feel better" hahaha
JustGav
or probiotic bacteria making you "feel better" hahaha Don't know about feeling better, but it sure makes me let rip

Markie
Anyone any idea how I could test whether its a form of imobilation or whether they are just running power off it? Thinking about it, it cant be to power the alarm as surely the injectors don't have power going to them constantly...
Ian C
Good point, he said, getting back in topic The injectors only get power when the ignition is on position 2. However, it can't be an immobiliser either as it looks tapped not cut, and it also would have to go into all six injectors. It's a mystery - cut the wire and see what stops working -Ian

Matt Harwood
I'd put large amounts of money on it being used as a form of monitoring rpm for an alarm with remote start.
Markie
It has anti hijacking also the remote start. Looks like the cash goes to Matt Its deffo monitoring something to do with getting info off the injector pulse anyway.
