dazla
I dont know if anyone watches this on bravo but i'm loving it at the moment. Michael bisping was fighting last night on pay per view but i'm watching it on bravo tonight. This guy is seriously hard as nails, he's from Clitheroe in Lancashire. The only guy flying the flag for britain. http://78.ufc.com/

far
yup been wathcing UFC since 1994! Bispings last fight was controversial to say the least, thanks for the reminder for UFC tonight I almost forgot to Sky+ it, will get the missus to record it. Might be worth finding some of the older UFC's for you guys who are new to it as back then there were no weight classes, no rules at all and it was tournement style (i.e. winners from each fight went onto fight the next round until there was only two fighter left) . Download UFC 1-4, they are awesome! But of course the sport has come a long way since
hadyn
Download UFC 1-4, they are awesome! But of course the sport has come a long way since Gotta love Royce Gracie, Tank Abbot, Ken Shamrock Dev Severn etc from back in the day. Was so hardcore then it should have been banned! Some serious brutality went on back then!
Jake
I like Bisping a lot but I don't rate him as a UFC fighter. He did well in The Ultimate Fighter series, the only other Brit in it, that Ross Poynton fella, was an embarrassment. But Bisping wouldn't have won TUF if that deaf guy (Matt something?) hadn't got injured. When Bisping finally fought the deaf guy in his last UFC matchup it was sooo fixed it was laughable. The deaf guy clearly won the fight - I had Bisping losing every round but somehow the judged gave it to him - can you say home town decision? Jake
I've seen it but it's very much the poor relation to UFC. Also, I realy hope the UFC keep away from too much showbiz style bollocks. Fighters having "hard" nicknames and entrance gimmicks takes away from the credibility of it and makes it more like other bullshit fightutainment. MrHanky
I started watching this back in the days of Gracie etc, but then forgot all about it until ealier this year. Really loved the Ultimate Fighter 5 series, and thought that there were some good fighters in that selection, Gray Maynard, Manny Gamburian, Nate Diaz and Joe Lauzon. Also the finale was great when B J Penn fought Jens Pulver. Will be watching tonight but don't know anything about the British guy. Last one I watched was excellent, as the main event was Franklin vs Silva. Silva is just awesome to watch IMO.

I already see it going that way though, especially when you see ex WWF / WWE commentators on there
Jake
you see ex WWF / WWE commentators on there Who is that? I don't watch wrestling so didn't realise one of the pundits was from that.
dazla
Wasn't ken shamrock a wrestler in the WWF, its just all Tito Ortiz seems to talk about?

Mike Goldberg may have done it as well. I haven't seen it in years, so I could be getting mixed up
far
Shamrock originally fought in Pancrass assoctiation in Japan in early/mid 90's then moved to UFC and was pretty good there. He then left UFC for a short career in WWF then returned to UFC when the game had totally changed, he had fair success before retiring last year. IMO one of the best fighters still is Rickson Gracie (Royces brother) unbeaten in 200+ fights, yes his career was 10 years+ ago but no one could beat him. Well worth downloading a documentry about him called ' Rickson Gracie Choke' I'm with Jake on Bisping, yes he is our only Brit fighter in UFC and for that I support him but I think he aint all that. Chuck Liddel was hot until he started partying and lost his last two fights. And what happended to Tito? Since he's started going out with that Porn star (jenna jameson?) he is only on ring side nowadays. If anyone wants copys of UFC 1-4 lemme know and I will send you them. Well worth a watch just to see how things have changed and how Gracie ruled!

The deaf guy clearly won the fight - I had Bisping losing every round but somehow the judged gave it to him - can you say home town decision? thats what im thinking will happen, Bisping is gettting to lost in his on hype, much liek that Mark Weir bloke who had his debut at UFC in the Albert Hall some years back (managed to get tickets for that) where he got the fasted ufc knockout of 10 seconds, since then he has been living off that hype and not done too well in the cage rage series. Anyone watch Cage Rage too? I went to the 2nd cage rage event in some town hall that was gona be closed down, they deffo got bigger and better, but IMO they lost it when they moved the wembley conference centre and then it just got so impersonal, before you were right close to the action but now, if you dont spend the money for ringside, your sitting waaaaaay back and watching it on the screen,,, may as well stay at home.. Hopefully a techy will be able to help I've not a clue then mate, I'm brain dead when it comes to technology. I couldn't keep my eyes open for the bisping fight last night. So i recorded it, just watched it now and i thought it was very close. Rashad isn't all that i thought he would be. He was gasping for air since the 1st round, i thought he was very lucky as he won with some quite lousy take downs. His stand up wasn't that good either. I was abit disappointed with bisping though. I expected to see alot more of his knee work. overall though they both did well and bisping dont deserve the boos from the crowd:rolleyes:
