Race built TH400 with transbrake 3800 or 4500/5000 TC

The TH400 is one of the strongest auto boxes you can buy, the one the USA boys go for after they have repeatedly trashed built MKIV boxes.

The only standard part of this TH400 is the casing. All the internals are race quality therefore much stronger, built for PHR and designed to deliver over 1000RWHP all day every day. I also have a rebuilt PI 3800 TC. This too is built to take the same power as the box, rebuilt by a company better known for their TC’s for six second Mustangs. There is another TC from PHR also a high power unit 4500/5000 stall, built to match the capabilities of the box.

The box is reverse pattern with transbrake, so launches can be 100% time after time. The package comes with speedo signal converter, MKIV bell housing and adapter plate( already built up), and a rear hanger to mount on the stock box mounts. For rapid sequential shifts, it has a B&M Quick Silver shifter. The kit includes; a flex plate, (an auto prop and shafts) if required, as adjustments have to be made to the prop to fit the box.

When I was talking to Dimitri about mapping AEM for my VWR Race engine and the TH400 combination, he was confident that we could get low nines and even into the 8's. This box will take whatever is thrown at it, fully built TH400’s like this one handle huge 1100bhp+ power levels in the states

The Box and 4500-5000 TC cost me over £3.6K + shipping, I am looking for £2.5K or close offer . Either of the TC’s will be included in the sale. If the buyer wants both TC’s I am sure we can work out a deal. There are new fans and new coolers that are available as an additional purchase.

This box is a custom job, you can't get this off the shelf from PHR, nothing about it is standard, the 4500-5000 stall is the same, custom built, with much stronger internals, there is not another like it.

Please PM for further details, reason for sale etc.

shame to see u selling all your bits off.would have been a beast of a supra.how much you selling the tc for if you have 2.think the one in mine is a 3500 stall.

I want to keep both TC's available for any prospective purchaser as they have the option of choosing either. If they only want only one, then I'll be in touch.

Photo of the MKIV rear mount attached to the back of the TH400 box. The mount uses a heavy duty rubber insulator to absorb shock and reduce transmission noise through the floor pan.

Second photo shows the transmission fluid flow and return fittings to an external cooler.

Pictures of the torque converters.

The pink one is the PI 3800*, it was slipping at 700rwhp, so was seriously uprated to take the power of my engine. It was used once before purchase an held 900rwhp perfectly.

The black one is a brand new unused 4500-5000* stall from PHR

*Stall speeds are estimates and will vary according to your torque figures.

With appropriate cooling, either of these TC's will take what ever you can throw at it.

Neither is for sale independent of the box, until the box buyer has chosen one.

There may be one MKIV at the present time, in the UK, that could use the full potential of either TC. (My opinion- Not wishing to start a fight)

Free bump (sort of :-) )

Terminator: I am doing some research into auto tranny components and was hoping you could do me a huge favour and weigh the 2 torque converters you are selling here (both the PI and the PHR TC's) ? If it's too much trouble no worries!

Thanks :-)
