Whitesupraboy2
Anyone else been sent one of these. To do stuff online I have to put my bank card in to the reader, I can see why its more secure.

Pete
Feckers haven't sent me one yet. Mind you, what about when I want to use it on the laptop instead of the PC? Or when I'm at work?

Till the thieving barstool who sent it requestis it back for some equally poor excuse, and downloads all your bank information L
Steve
I have had mine from Natwest now for about 3 months. Seems to be a good idea
MarkR
You only need the Natwest one if you want to add a new payee. I guess it stops would be thieves from adding themselves to your payee list and b*ggering off with your hard earned cash. You can still do inter-account transfers and pay existing accounts etc. Good job I think... The only gripe I have is that they're not solar powered, so I have to pay for the batteries when they run out! Another sneaky bank tax me thinks. Wouldn't be surprised if they own half of Eveready
Snooze
Yeah - Barclays sent me one of these. Pile of arse. Half the point of internet banking is so I can access it anywhere. Now I can't. It's one more thing that hackers will have to get round, and hopefully avoids keypress reading as a mechanism, which is good, but I can't help but wonder how much it now absolves the bank of any liability if your account does get hacked...... Wez
I got one too, what a complete load of tosh
Supragal
More secure but it does mean you have to remember to take the "Tomy - my first calculator" everywhere with you. Plus I'm not convinced having the same pin for everything now is more secure. If you've got that they have access to online banking, buying in shops and cash machines!! ivan
There's no reason why you have to use the same PIN for everything. The reader recognises which card you've put in. If you use a laptop, just keep the reader in the laptop bag. It's not a security risk without your card and your PIN because it's only a random number generator. Or ask for another one and keep one at the office...
