Chris Wilson
Well, he'll be sending a photo of it with tomorrows daily paper in front of it if I get it I take your point though CJ, especially from a fellow Welshman

Chris Wilson
How long have you been welsh? The vendor is in Swansea, to make matters worse
CJ
The vendor is in Swansea, to make matters worse Well, that's another anomaly. Pontypool is in the county of Gwent and nowhere near Gwynedd - and certainly not close to Swansea either.
Chris Wilson
id ring them and ask first before parting with that amount of money If it's new, real, and goes to me for 900 quid I am ecstatic. I agree with many here though, it's fishy. You have noticed it's petrol engined, not electric? As such it's a bit specialised. I don't have 3 phase here, so I have to work around this for certain equipment, and I am *issed off with a 3hp compressor, having been used to at least a 10HP before we moved into Backofbeyond. Pete
The vendor is in Swansea, to make matters worse Ah! The seller is Welsh...not you. Right. I thought for a minute there you'd classified yourself living a mere 5 miles from the border as being Welsh.
Chris Wilson
Well, just before the end of the auction I got this Ebay reply to my question re fuel. Why would someone from Wales call petrol "gas"? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ hello, we have only this one now but we can supply more.It runs on regular gas. How many would you need? We'll set the price after. Kind Regards =================================================== How many of these do you have please? I assume it runs on regular UK diesel? Pete
Regular Gas. Nice. I agree with CJ. It's a 14 year old in the US somewhere trying to rob you blind.
Chris Wilson
Thanks for the advice, guess you were right, no further reply from the seller, and what I think is a fake Ebay sent letter as the earlier reply. I bought another one, not as big, not new, but not fake and the seller seems a genuinely nice guy. Do I bother telling Ebay about the fake sale? Sounds like a load of hassle to no end to me. Pete
It's worth reporting, but they will say you need to leave it for so long, and why do you think it's a con etc. etc. The account will be removed then the scammer will open up a new one. This is the problem with eBay, it's full of jokers like this.

Chris Wilson
Thanks Peter. Thought it was a funny place to find petrol engined compressors in multi horsepower sizes. I managed to find a legit seller on Ebay and should have something by the weekend that will do the job. Cheers mate!
