Ebay buying question

I have my eye on the following on Ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=110193020960&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=001

The pics are straight off the US makers web site, and the seller has not responded to questions re this. If i bid on it and find it's not in the UK, or there is anything iffy can I lose out? I would only hand the cash over once I had seen it and was ready to trailer it away. Do I leave myself open to anything by just bidding and then demanding sight of it before ANY funds transfer, IE, I only give the money when I go to collect? Cheers.

sod that!! i have a limit of a tenner when they have no feedback what so ever, sod £900. its too easy for them to make a quick grand. also, if you bid then demand to see it they possible could mess up your feedback rating as they have nothing to lose, saying your a non payer and that

I would not either mate.

Too much dodgy shite on Ebay these days.

true, you can set up loads of accounts and if you suck in one person a week for £900 your laughing. my brother got riped for a £260 damper for his bike, never turned up and the fellas address was fake, money down the drain

Hmm, not sure I see the risk here, if I bid say 920 quid, and get it, I just get the address, go down with a trailer and the money, look at it, and pay if it's as described, or walk if it's not. A new compressor is a new compresssor... If I bid 920 and the bloke asks for money up front I just laugh. Where's the catch?

It all depends on how much you care about your feedback rating. I bid on something a couple of weeks ago, then realised I hadn't looked into the seller closely enough, I didn't like the look of his feedback etc, so I said I wasn't going to pay (wouldn't let me use paypal), and damn the negative feedback (I have a rating of over 4,500 anyway).

The seller turned out to have 5 different accounts in order to bid his auctions up, & used one of them to buy £4K worth of stuff from me, refused to pay of course, just so I had to pay ebay seller fees for a while until the sales are reversed.

I hate ebay....

I can't believe Costco sell 24HP compressors, it's a big *astard with electric start. Are you sure? I definitely don't want something with alloy cylinders like some Machine Mart ones, had bad experiences of those in the past :(

I have a spare 2JZ TT engine for sale if its power and reliability you need in a compressor, sure you could hook it up :D
