Scott
I know this has been covered many many times but i just want to make sure i have it clear. I've searched loads of threads for the info on this but its still a little hazy with me so i want to be clear. I have a facelift J-Spec Soop and i want to swop out the bulbs in the headlights. Am i right in saying that i need HB3's for both the Full Beam and Driving Beam? What are my options with regards to HID? Would these be good enough... Clicky I quite fancy HID's but i'm not sure about the cost. Cheers Scott =op
Guest DaveWilko
Those ones are not xenon or hid. They are just blue halogen rip-offs. Have a look at this site. I always get my bulbs from them. I went for the Philips premium ones. Made a big difference. Full beam and dipped take the same bulb. http://www.powerbulbs.com/
merckx
I always forget what type of bulbs are fitted, just take one out and have a look.

Supra-Brett
Have a loom at this post and in particular the link low down where Harvard had the same nightmare i had. http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=127275 Basically you need 2 x 9005 (HB3s), but you will need to modify one of them to fit
Scott
Superb, exactly what i was looking for. Thanks for the links Scott =op
Carl_S
Yeah mine needs a main beam one too on the left. will try powerbulbs also, and hopefully fit it myself.
jamesmark
It also tells you what size you need on the actual lens of the headlight, for the record I got a set of 9005 HID's and I did not need to do any modding.
Scott
Yeah for the main beams but i am looking to get 2 sets of HID so that my sidelights and full beam are HID. Or is that not a good idea? Scott =op
jamesmark
Sidelights iirc do not come in HID as they are so small, you are best getting some LED w5w sidelights. Some people like full beam HID's but to me it is pointless, you can flash someone as it takes a few seconds to warm up, and normal full beams give off enough light. Carl_S
I agree that normal beams give off enough light.. But Mark, did you say that you have HID bulbs but no HID kit? I'm about to buy some bulbs for mine today. Also headlight removal.. how do you go about changing the bulbs? Carl
jamesmark
HID lights are a full kit, each kit contains 2 bulbs, 2 ballasts, fitting kit. It is no use just buying those supposed to be xeon lights for £15, and HID kit will set you back £80 upwards. Do a search on ebay for HID lights.
