Rob
I'm a bit concerned about this now. My NA failed it's MOT on corrosion to the rear discs and a brake pipe. As I'm trying to be a cheapskate, I had the discs skimmed yesterday, they look lovely now, but I made the mistake of not telling the guy that the minimum thickness is to be 15mm. A measure with just a ruler and they look like being 14mm at best, I'll check with a Vernier when I get home. My thoughts are that I'll just put it back together for the re-test and source some replacement discs later. It failed on corrosion so I presume the MOT tester will just visually inspect that element, will he check the thickness against some database? Am I going to die in a crash? Pete
Just buy some new brakes. It's not worth scrimping on.
Rob
Yeah, I kinda know that, but I've got to get the MOT this weekend so we can use both cars again.
Chris Wilson
He won't measure them unless they look stupidly thin.

I put new ones on.

Rob
After christmas. Rusty brake pipe though? The little 1" of exposed pipe where it joins the flexi-hose connector has some surface rust on it. The whole joint is covered with the same. If I need to replace the pipe, how far back does it go into the bodywork? Is it even possible?
