Scott
Hi guys, looking for a bit of info. I quite fancy getting one of the hardpipe kits off of fleebay. Now i know the XS power stuff isn't regarded as the best but the rolled ends etc on this kit makes it look pretty good. Also, i would have thought that you can't really go wrong with a hardpipe kit. Now, the questions.. 1 Is this kit IC specific? I don't really know what IC i have on my car but its bloody big. If it is IC specific would i be able to get a reducer to make it fit? Would that be safe? 2 I have an aftermarket bumper on my car. Do i need to remove this to fit the kit or can it be fitted without taking anything apart? Think thats about it for now. flukey-lukey
Bumper will have to come off to fit it properly imo. Not sure if the IC pipes would be IC specific, but at a guess I'd say yes... although you could probably chop and change them fairly easily
Scott
Damn, i was hoping it would be a standard such as 3" or 4" etc lol. Going to be fun taking off the bumper too. Not to worry i guess, i'll get something sorted. Really want a bit of engine bling even if it is only a little bit. Scott =op
flukey-lukey
oh you mean diameter sizes... yes you can get reducers etc so that the piping will marry up with your IC. I thought you meant would the pipes to the IC be too long or short to marry up with the IC Taking an aftermarket bumper off isn't a hard job. Take off the undertray and they are usually held on with a couple of bolts. Which bumper do you have?
Scott
Bomex or Border or Bo something as far as i know. Cheers Scott =op
Sean1933
It should fit with most front mounts, however it will (ideally) need to be an intercooler that has straight inlet/outlet's...not the angled ones like a few (HKS i think, and a few others). You can get reducers in the piping is a different diameter to the FMIC inlet/outlet.
