Animal
I've learnt bloody loads this week! Went on a 2 day AutoCAD training seminar in Birmingham this week and it was the best thing I've ever been on, dead laid back and some great speakers. It's really sad, but I was actually excited to get back to work so I could start implementing the new knowledge into how I work and also help my colleagues. Some of them have asked me to do some lunchtime training courses, so I've got to come up with some good ideas. There was a 5 minute multiple-choice test and I managed to get in the top 10 out of about 200 and win me some stuff. Even better, I was talking to the main speaker and she's posted up one of my ideas on-line training blog. :sigh: I'm such a geek.
Rob
Then learn me right up as to why, if I insert a raster image, it somehow links it to it's original location on the server, so if you copy the drawing onto a laptop and take to a presentation, when you open the drawing, all you get is a line of text showing the path to the original file. Animal
I had a bloke ask me that at work this morning. Yeah, it's a bugger for that. AutoCAD has no way of handling raster information so all it can do is put a placeholder in the drawing liked to the original file. You have to treat OLE objects like Xrefs. It's okay if your using the e-transmit command to pack the drawing and e-mail it 'cos it automatically zips up every file associated with the drawing. If your copying it to disk, or other drive you have to remember to grab all referenced files too. The amount of times I've burnt a CD to send the client and forgot to add the Xrefs. Pete
The amount of times I've burnt a CD to send the client and forgot to add the Xrefs. If I had a penny for every time I heard that lame old excuse.... I'd have 1p.
CJ
Learnt something new last night - beer and Panadol don't mix. If you have been out on the beer from an early hour, come home, fall asleep for 2 hours, wake up with a headache, DO NOT take 2 x 500mg Panadol as you could end up feeling decidedly worse
dazla
Well I've just learnt that hovering the stairs with no shoes or slippers on is a very bad idea. I got to the middle of the stairs while lifting the hover with me, trying not to put the rotating bit on the edge of the stairs and instead my big toe decided to jump in for a hair cut. I was rolling around on the floor holding my foot trying not to cry in front of jemma, then i plucked up the courage to have a look. I've just lost half of my big toe nail:faint:
hiten55
i've learnt that when making an omelette, adding pure orange juice to the mix does NOT improve the taste as thought. it also doesn't allow it to set as nicely and does allow it to stick to the pan. all in all I've learnt that i should stay out of the kitchen when feeling like Jamie Oliver....
