ok - he shouldnt have been offensive, and now knows the rules etc...sometimes it takes a mistake to understand your errors.

I still stick by the point that his money - his decision.

He wasnt asking whether its a good idea to buy one or not!

not really our business what he buys his daughter is it?

and thats the problem with society these days.

Somebody is stupid enough to give their 14 year old a device that will attract attention (as otherwise they wouldnt want it, they would make do with a Nokia 1100) and they get stabbed for it, then how does that help anybody. I do believe its worth pointing out somebody's stupidity, if only to help them see that perhaps they are making a mistake.

Makes no difference to us if his daughter gets stabbed but I dont want to hear him whinge about it when it happens. I hate whingers.

Agreed, he got a warning for the swearing in case he lied when checking the 'I've read this' box when joining, but an infraction for being abusive as T's & C's aside, that's normal social behaviour stuff that everyone has an understanding of.

You are of course right I should not have been name calling,

I can afford to buy my daughter a phone,

she has been bullied at school and her life was hell

She has now got over this and started to get a better life for herself, she has a brilliant school report and in my opinion she deserves whatever I can give her

Christmas is coming

So why do some people air thier opinions without the full facts

That is also bullying

Seriously though, all that aside, it's very easy to make assumptions from posts on the net. I don't think anyone told you you couldn't, so you go ahead and do whatever is right, but you do need to accept that somtimes people are going to disagree and let you know about it, for whatever reason.

And of course, you didn't give the full facts ;) And still haven't!!

lol i have a nokia 1100 :) we don't even know where he lives...obviously if i had a child and were still living in slough then i might aswell just shoot him/her in the face rather than buy them a fancy phone and save the £800.

Well, that was kind of strange eh?

I wonder why the poor kid was bullied? I know other kids can be incredibly cruel and sometimes, it doesn't take much for them to gang up and pick on someone. In fact, someone as silly as jealousy over the other person seemingly having everything she wants - including new £400 phones!

Ah well, we are not going to find out now anyway.
