CJ
Let me get something straight.... Iphone - phone that plays media Itouch - media player with no phone? I was bloody confused too
Pete
The Ipods are absolutely superb with sound quality so i'm not sure what to make of it. I've just bought some of these and can argue against that point a little. iPods are good quality. Minidisc is still my quality preference. RedM
You gotta love threads like this. So Branners, is this your personal space or what? That had me LOL. I reckon that the real story is spoilt daughter wants iPhone, dad can afford it but not the tariff, looks for dodgy deals in hope of getting it converted to PAYG. Scott
Yeah. Iphone is like ipod touch, but can make phone calls. Itouch is just the new gen ipod - touch screen. Advantage is screen is a log bigger for video. Not quite.. Iphone is an OK mediaplayer with iffy sound quality, limited features compared to other phones. Ipod Touch is arguably the best media player on the market. The iphone basically does everything not very well wheras the Ipod Touch does what it does extremely well. Depends what your after. If your after a phone/media player get an N95 or one of the new sony ericsson phone (unsure of the model no.) If your after a fashion accessory get an iphone. Pete
Keep your petty thinking to your own space Peter or are you aborn again ******* What was the word? I'm guessing it wasn't Christian? I can't think of anything else that fits that sentence.
Scott
i'm guessing the 2nd word in the ****'s would be "hole"?? There are a few others though, that match the *'s not the person (AFAIK) Scott =op

Scott =op At the risk of being pedantic : The ipod touch shows photos, browses the web, plays music, plays videos. The iphone shows photos, browses the web, plays music, plays videos and makes phone calls. I'd say my summary was reasonably accurate...... Pete
Jehovah. He obviously read the other thread. What's with the Peter thing anyway. Dunno. Only my mum calls me Peter when I've been naughty. nice im with you on the minidisc too - cant fault them. my opinion - dont buy anything apple related apart from laptops and machines. everthing else is just like jodie marsh - good to look at but wouldnt wanna play with / touch it I can't agree with that (he says typing on his new aluminium Apple keyboard). I love my 80Gb Video iPod, and Vickis new Nano is brilliant. They're so intuitive and as a lossy media player it does the job very well indeed. iTunes is excellent too once you get your head around it. I'm a recent convert. I wouldn't mind playing with Jodie Marsh....as long as she kept her gob shut.

Pete
i didnt like sony's sonic sdtage Dreadful piece of software and the main thing that sadly killed the whole NetMD line along with proprietary format. Bloody shame.

Its how well it does those things that matters though is it not? There are a lot of all singing all dancing gadgets available to buy but dedicated mediaplayers, phones etc will always be better. My point is that on paper it may look great, but in reality its pretty disappointing. My bro in law's GF works in an o2 store and she got to take the iphone home to try out for a week, so that she could get used to the features to show customers etc. She said that its absolutely terrible and that the N95 blows it out the water, although it does have some nice visual features. Bro in law had a go with it too and came to the same conclusion. It was him that noted the bad sound quality. Scott =op

Bloody shame. md will never die as long as theres people like us still using them, we can start a crack underground team (like the a-team, need a name though - md-team sounds like we have a disease ). we can roam the london underground listening to our players and recruiting people to the cause (mainly the idiots with music blaring out of their phones). mind you, being the london underground, we'll probably be a while due to all the closures, faults, and shootings
Scott
Yeah i get where your coming from. I just didn't want people to think that they were the same cept you can phone with one and not with the other. Your right though, they have the same features (cept for the phone part) but the big difference is how well those features actually work. What do you do? Scott
Work for Nokia. Cool, sales? Any idea if the new N95 black has a better processor/more memory in it? I love the N95 but i hate how slow it can be when accessing the media menu etc. Seemed as if they rushed the model a bit. Scott =op

Internally, they all have "secret" project names and because I work in s/w, I don't even see 99% of the phones that our s/w is in and I don't even know that phone is really N95. I would be surprised if the N95 black was any faster. It's the symbian part that's slow.
SupraStar 3000
He deserves a phone in the eye, not a iPhone. WTF was that all about.
R Black
It has much more internal memory as well as firmware updates i would imagine so should be faster, you can update firmware of the existing N95 which apparently does speed it up, i will try it for myself this weekend. P.S. That WAS highly entertaining
