Crikey Barney, nice to see a fair bit of prog on that list.

You must have seen some great guitarists, then - Schenker, Holdsworth, Howe, Petrucci, Fripp etc.

How's your hearing? :)

Heh heh, a fair bit more prog I could add but mostly very obscure stuff, you can't beat a good bit of prog;)

Yeah, all of the above guitarists bar Petrucci (don't think anyway?) plus Satriani, Blackmore, Trower, Leslie West, Uli Jon Roth etc.

Funny you should mention my hearing as I am classed as partially deaf!

Think the loudest band I ever saw was Manowar, god they were sooooooooooo loud:blink:.......way louder than Motorhead and that's saying something.

Pardon!!

Some great bands on that list Barney, I'd have loved to have seen King Crimson, Hawkwind & Gong back then. Seen Hawkwind & Jethro Tull in the early '90s, Tull were great live.

Speaking of prog bands, I've just come across 2 new ones in the same vein as Dream Theater - Symphony X & Isis, definately worth a listen to.

My list of gigs is something like...

Warlock '88

Dio '88

Motley Crue '89

W.A.S.P '89

Skid Row '89

Slayer '90

Megadeth '88 & '90

Metallica '91

Helloween '88

Guns 'n' Roses '88

Dave Lee Roth '88

Wolfsbane (various '90s)

Little Angels (various '90s)

Kiss '88

Iron Maiden (various '88+)

Def Leppard '90

Saxon '94

Suicidal Tendencies '90

Anthrax '90

Testament '90

Jethro Tull '95

Girlschool '93

Hawkwind '93

Obituary '92

Sacriledge '92

Bolt Thrower '90

Xentrix (various '89+)

Levellers (various '90s)

Ozric Tentacles (various '90s)

Lawnmower Deth '90

Sepultura '91

Dismember '91

Dream Theater '07

Symphony X '07

Machine Head '07

Trivium '07

Arch Enemy '07

Dragonforce '07

This isn't counting the many bands known & unknown I've seen at various bike shows, support acts, etc

Animal: Thanks. Symphony X I have a few things by but not heard Isis so another band to check out. Good gigs there, fell in love with Doro when I saw Warlock:)

The first time I saw Hawkwind was in 74 I think and of course Stacia was with them then;)

King Crimson were superb, Ah those were the days.

I see Wolfesbane are doing some support dates soon, now Blaze Bailey... there is one dedicated metalhead, he was the best period of Iron Maiden imho.

I sat next to Blaze at a martial art's demo in Wolverhampton back in 89/90....unsurprisingly he was not sober

Blaze Bayley is playing Manchester Academy tonight but it's as himself not Wolfsbane I think, would be good to see them again though - they need to release all their old stuff again too, it sounds a bit flat and could do with a remaster :)

Blaze the band were fantastic, just a shame that he has never been more successful, as front men go he gives it his all.

Met him a few times and he always has time for fans.

Yeah, the Wolfsbane stuff is ripe for a re-master.
