More weird intermittent starting issues

Possibly the cold weather

A few weeks ago I had bad wiring on my battery to my Fiat Punto which meant it didn't start without a jump

Since then it's been fine

However since I've owned the car every now then on start up, the revs were really low [probably 1 in ever 3 times I started the car]., about 500rpm. Naturally I ignored it, as it would be picked up in the next service I was sure. If it conked out, which it did every now and then, it started straight away back up to 900rpm and it was all fine

But this morning 5 minutes away from work, [40 mile drive], the car conks out, as approaching roundabout. Spend about 10 minutes trying to get it to start and it eventually does

Get to work, go to reverse into space and it conks out again. Another 10 minutes trying to get it started

I call the AA, and mid call it springs to life, but they come out anyway

Checked spark plugs, cleaned crankshaft sensor, but last comment "not sure what fault was"

I got home but any ideas what the problem could [have] be[en]?

Last service 76k [it's done 85k]

Cambelt changed at 80k

PS: Wish I kept the Supra now!
