Glosphil
Lesson learnt! A while ago I did my brakes etc and tightened my wheel nuts with the breaker bar I got to get the discs off. STUPID ! They were so tight, It broke my locking wheel nut remover when I tried to undo them. Spent today hammering 21mm sockets over them to remove them and only got 2 off so far. Bought a torque wrench, new lock nuts, and sockets. Cost of being an idiot, £90 Look on my face when the lock nut remove broke? priceless.

Tricky-Ricky
Nothing wrong with a breaker bar, its just remembering how much it adds to torque;) If i wasn't being kind i would say its the person on the end of it:p
Glosphil
Yeah I did try and guess the torque but I guess because of its length its not easy to judge. Frankly a stupid thing to do just because I didnt know where the normal one was lol

TLicense
They've only got to be done to 103Nm. It's not all that much....
AndyT
Oops. 103 Nm in old money 76 lbf/ft. Really isn't a lot and was recommended setting by ProTyre. Therefore don't let anyone near your pride and joy with a air driven socket gun. Ever.
Chris and Alana
I broke my locking wheel nut key not lond ago either trying to take the front wheels off so I could do my brakes, I know how you feel and it's not funny (well not at the time anyway )
ivan
Rule of thumb I always use is to do wheel nuts up as tight as you can manage by hand using a standard (about 1 foot) wheel brace.
