Petrol

Hi all just had this e-mailed to me so i thought i would share it

PLEASE READ ALL

See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it.

We are hitting 95p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying £1 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea:

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May!

The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol.

It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT, whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.

Please read it and join in!

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place not sellers.

With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol!

And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves.

Here's the idea: For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP.

If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit.

But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!!

Now, don't whimp out on me at this point... keep reading! and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers!

If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted!

If it goes one level further, you guessed it... .. THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.(and not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take?

If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8days!!!

Acting together we can make a difference If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 69p a LITRE RANGE

It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. i.e. boycott BP and Esso

We should all do this, after all Tesco does the best petrol according to the survey and is cheaper anyway. Show the bastards we control them not the other way round. I've had my Supra 2 years now and I swear it'd be cheaper to have a habit but there's no way I'm going to buy a lesser car coz the people or the government say I should. They don't get any more money outa me each week, I just buy less - and still get by.

Let's show them guys n gals and boycott the 2 biggens if not more

Anyway! Back to this petrol issue.....;)

I hadn't read the original post very well. This is the one where you boycott certain fuel comapanies. I think it's a great idea in theory but it will never work. As soon as the other suplliers drop their prices, everyone will go back to them in order to make a small saving.....

I think another fuel protest is not far away!

I dont see it working, people are too relaxed about it.

how does your sup go on LPG though? Id stick it on min eif i thought they wouldn't hike the tax up on it fairly quickly too.

It's a little down on power but it's ok for motorway runs. The tank is only small too. I am actually thinking about ripping the whole thing out as I hardly use it. One of the NW lads Pemtek reckons that the LPG throttle body is actually restricting the flow from the petrol tank and I am therefore down on power.

Although it doesn't feel like it!

Not the oil companys fault its the goverments tax i say vote me in and il drop all petrol tax!

yup its like 70 odd pence worth of tax. The whole country has now been brainwashed with this climate change, motorists are criminals rubbish, use eco friendly cars etc... that they can get away with it allot easier.

Yep - as said, boycotting the oil companies aint going to get the tax reduced.

If anyone's interested, visit http://www.petrolprices.com and sign up for their updates. I get an email twice a week to tell me the cheapest 5 petrol stations within 5 miles of my home address. I can get normal unleaded (for my other car) for 97.9p/litre.

You can get updates for up to 3 different fuel types and emails once or twice a week. I always thought my local Tescos was cheap, but it's only 3rd on the list for Super, and not in the top 5 at all for 95 or diesel.

i think its to do with how its made.

To make diesel fuel you need more oil to start with.

With the same ammount of petrol you can get more petrol....

Or it might be the other way arround, there are less diesel cars so the up the price a bit to get more money on those that need it :p
